This was a BIG cake!!! Whole head is made of chocolate. Got idea from Wilton Book. The 2 year old LOVED it! The cake was as big as he was. He sat on the table by it's side the whole party. I love those kinds of reactions.

My 4 year old and I just finished this. I wanted to make a cake for "us" for a change. I gave her the piping bag and we went crazy. It is a butter cake w/tiny bittersweet ch. chips and whipped bc icing. I wasn't crazy about the BC on it. Hubby loved it.. maybe a different icing next time. Cake was SUPER YUM!!! Emma was proud when I told her I was putting it on the cake website!!!

All decorations were made with Buttercream but we had trouble with the icing being too soft but we were to lazy to add extra confectioners sugar to fix the problem.

What do you get when you let your 3 year old son and 5 year old daughter decorate a cake for Dad's birthday? A double-layer chocolate cake iced in green (kids' choice) BC and decorated with pink (DD's choice) and red (DS's choice) BC, and topped with rainbow sprinkles! Dad said it was the best cake he's ever had!

Yesterday we had our first meeting for this project. I love decorating so much and wanted to share it with the kids! I had 1 boy (my ds) and 5 girls (1 was my dd). I only gave them time to crumb coat their cakes, then we worked with stars and beads. I think they did a great job! NExt month we will work with more borders and I think we will bring out the fondant to make little pumkins for our cakes! I am so proud of them all!

I made these 4 cakes for my step daughters 10th birthday in August '06. These were my first "professional" cakes that I actually got paid to do. I wish I had better closer pictures but we were running late and I was literally decorating as I was getting dressed to go to the party lol. Thanks for looking comments and constructive critisisim welcome. Barbie is Yellow cake, two flowers are yellow and one is marble. All done in butter cream icing.

This is a somewhat replica of the pic that was entered in the halloween cake contest. I could not find who did the cake originally to give them artistic credit but who ever they are their idea made my niece very happy. It was a 10 inch 1 layer on bottom, 2nd layer was 8 inch and the top(spider was 4 inch shaped and head was muffin tin. All bc icing though. My sister put the legs on after she got it since she didn't bring them to begin with. Kids loved it from what I understand.
