This is my first time trying to make an ivory color. I think it turned out okay, only took my a couple of tries - ha ha - and a lot of left over ivory color!

Everything's buttercream, except the green is real ribbon. I was wanting to do the green in fondant, but since is for our store display, it would just fade, so I thought I'd go easy on myself this time.

Each layer of this wedding cake was decorated with a different design,
with the fondant pearls being the theme throughout the design. Ivory buttercream icing, fondant pearls, black ribbon, gumpaste bow, and initials of wedding couple on gumpaste plaque.

this wedding reception was outside, under a tent in 80+ degree weather....everything went well, but the MMF drapes kept sticking to themselves and it was hard to get them to fan out.....14,12,10 & 8" tiers....alternating chocolate/choc. chip & yellow cake.....covered in ivory BC.....gumpaste roses and leaves......MMF pearls made with a CK pearl maker and dusted with super pearl dust.....TFL!

6" square, 9" round, 12' square, 16" square. This was based on a photo that my bride provided, I improvised a little. The topper is the monogram JBD, but was difficult to photo due to the very low lighting in the reception hall. We couldn't find a lightswitch that worked. :-)

6, 9 & 12in hexagonal cakes covered in cyclamen fondant and decorated with lustre painted ivory royal icing pearls and ribbons. Top & bottom tiers were chocolate cake with coffee buttercream and middle tier was vanilla cake with Bailey's Irish Cream infused dark chocolate ganache. Survived a 2 hour journey in 80 degree heat (thank goodness!). Based on Mich Turner's Vanity Fair design.

The middle tier is white cake with chocolate buttercream icing. All tiers have rolled buttercream icing with diamond impression.

Okay - my first time doing a 3 tier cake - for my parents 30th anniversary party this weekend. The tiering wasn't too difficult, but I'm not happy with the rest. The colors were supposed to match their wedding colors - Ivory buttercream for my mothers dress, yellow, peach and blue for the bridesmaids dresses. The ivory, I think, looks horrible - it was hot here today and the frosting wouldn't cooperate with me and is not smooth ..... the list goes on. The one bonus? It's still edible! Comments welcome!

6", 10" and 14" square cake, stacked offset. Bottom is chocolate, two top
layers yellow. All covered in ivory bc. Brown ribbon around the base of each
layer. Red, ivory and burnt orange bc roses and a molded milk chocolate
C on top. My second wedding cake ~ the eight mile delivery was nerve-wrecking
but we made it with little to no damage. (The roads were HORRENDOUS!)
I can see ALL the flaws and what I'd do differently if I had to do it again.

This was a cake for a bridal shower. White almond sour cream cake with buttercream icing. This Texas heat is tortur on a cake...AHHHH. The middle circle wanted to slide, I should have staked through the whole cake. Luckily it wasn't a major shift and the border held it in place (so I was told). It had to be set up the night before and you never know what a cake will do overnight!!

This was a cake I made for a customer that was having a couples' bridal shower. It was based off a cake I saw in a UK magazine by Linda Ellis. The cake was covered in ivory fondant. All the flowers were handmade from gumpaste with edible pearls.

This is a white/almond 8" cake with BC icing. I wasn't very happy with my swags and flowers but after they put all of the decorations around it I felt much better about it!!

My friend snuck the original topper and center section from her parent's wedding cake out of their house for me to use on their "surprise" 50th cake. I was (unbeknownst to my friend) worried about using it because the topper had yellowed considerably and was breaking in some spots. I played around with the flowers, "fluffed" them up the best I could, tinted the icing ivory and found complimentary flowers to put inside the center section. The cake looked better in person. She was very happy with it!!

Covered in fondx. The magnolias, leaves and swirly ribbon are gumpaste. I air brushed the tips of the magnolias silver. The bride's dress was ivory with black and silver accents and wanted this cake to match.

This beautiful 3 tiered ivory cake conceals three different cake flavors hidden beneath buttercream icing. Buttercream swirls, an ivory ribbon, and fresh flowers complement the romantic theme.

This was actually a retirement cake I made for my Husband's Principal. Had to plan ahead and make spare parts. (Beware-- when you bake three 2" cakes they may not equal 6" tall when iced!!) From a Wilton yearbook and patternbook.

12/10/6 ... all BC, including the flowers. Bride requested the cascade down the side. What I would do different next time .... add more roses at the base, like I have on the middle tier. THis was one of my 7-7-07 brides. We also did her buffet.
