I made these cupcakes for my Course 1 Lesson 3 project. It was a lot of fun and I was proud of them. I doubled the batch and delivered half to my dentist's office, Dr. Joe Grimaud and then the other batch the firefighters at Crestwood Firehouse (my usual cake drop- I mean really, what am I supposed to do with a cake every couple of weeks?) Of course, they were all devoured at both places. I love the bright colors and the glitter! Thanks for looking!

really loved the colors. Cake is covered with fondant. Flowers are gum paste, drapping was made with a stencil on modeling past. Polymere couple is protected with a small plate, so it doesn´t touch the cake.

This is my favorite cake so far! KellyM referred this bride to me and they were the easiest people to work with and so nice! This is an all buttercream cake with fresh hydrangeas. Let me just say that it took 2 hours to place all of the small flowers!

Hi sugar friends!
Wasn't sure if I could match her swatch, especially since I had to match sugar ribbon and dust on the gumpaste hydrangea. But, thank goodness it all pulled together great! Thanks for peeking!

My brother's wedding cake. Strawberry Cake with White Chocolate Ganache filling and covered in Almond BC and Satin Ice fondant. The hydrangeas are all gumpaste (as are the leaves) and I used the Scott Clark Woolley hydrangea set. Glad this one is over but happy with the end result.

These hexagon cakes were covered in white chocolate fondant. I made a total of 500 individual gum paste hydrangeas for this cake. I didn't know how I was going to color 500 hydrangeas until it dawned on me to use the dipping method. Thanks for letting me share

My 1st wedding cake--talk about anxiety--but I pulled it off in the end! Groom was in the air-force, hence the navy blue satin ribbon. Pearls made by hand of fondant using a small straw for uniform size, then rolling in pearl dust (by the handfull). It took me 3 1/2 hrs just to make and attach the pearls! I am buying pearl dragees from now on (I saw them for sale at FancyFlours.com AFTER I had made them).

I did it! Made my own wedding cake... a long night but made it. Lemon vanilla cake with lemon curd and RBC. Royal icing appliques to match the lace on my dress (there was going to be a lot more but they all broke) and didn't get to finish the sugar hydrangea for the topper so I had the florist spray a silk one the morning of. My dress had pleats along the bottom that I tried to replicate but ended up layering strips because I used RBC (last cake with RBC). Dress - Alfred Sung 7009 and added a sash.

Someone contacted me about a picture in my brochure of a cupcake bouquet saying she really loved the cake that looked like a flower pot. It told her it WAS a flower pot but that type of cake was doable. She asked for hydrangea and this is what she got. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Its about 3x as much cake as she asked for, though. Oh well. Live and learn.

I made this using a small metal mixing bowl. It's a yellow cake with buttercream filling and marshmallow fondant with gumpaste hydrangeas.

I even did a wash of gold lusterdust to give it a subtle sparkle.
