This is a devil's food cake with buttercream icing. Only the trees, hunter and deers are not edible. I put some white icing on the tree, rocks and grass to make it more wintery.

I made this cake for my grandpa for his 62 birthday. He loves to go hunting so I thought he would like it. When I made my icing, it didn't turn out right it was like play-dough. Everything trun out ok and I'm glad.

My first grooms cake, and my mom helped me a ton. The duck was red velvet - of course and he was sitting on carrot cake. The head and beak were made out of rice krispe treats, iced in bc and dusted in different luster dusts - done by my mom. Wings and tail were white chocolate dusted with luster dust - my moms idea. I used the football pan for the shape of the body and carved some from their. Blue water was blue bc that had clear piping gel added on top for the glossy water effect.

I haven't posted this cake yet cause I think it's missing something. Also I messed up on the writing and had to pull it off and start over. It was my first icing sheet application, and it was really fun and easy. The cake was white with BC icing, and a chocolate deer on top.

The bday party was for the customer's husband, uncle and cousin who all hunt. They are also jokesters and she wanted the cake to be humorous. She emailed me pictures of the guys she wanted to appear on the cake. It's an 11X15" 2-layer half chocolate/half yellow cake covered in buttercream icing. The people and deer are fondant, guns are gumpaste, trees are sugar cones covered in BC. All edible except for a few toothpicks holding things together. TFL!

The big tree is a dowel covered in rice krispies and MMF. the coons are supposed to b 'treeing' the dog and hunter - joke. TFL

Well this was an interesting cake to do...hmmm not in any hurry to attempt making deer again thats for sure. The bride and her mother though were absolutely wrapped with the cake... i made the deer from fondant with hardener, antlers from 24gauge wire doubled and then covered with brown florist tape then dusted with a lighter brown lustre, the veil is veil netting. I have hand piped the silver fern all the way round each tier and have made the orchids from fondant mixed with dyocell.

Birthday cake for a hunting-crazed little boy. He mailed me the cutest thank you note with a picture of a deer in the target that said, "You are the target for getting a good cake." How sweet is that? It's on my fridge.

I made this for my twin brothers' 18th birthday. It was my first time to try fondant and my first try at sculpting. I ran out of time so instead of dying the fondant, I used shimmer dust. I was disappointed but they weren't.

The bottom tier is Chocolate covered cherry with chocolate buttercream frosting, the middle is french vanilla with vanilla BC, and the top is fresh strawberry cake with vanilla BC. All covered in MMF and all the figures, rocks are fondant/gumpaste. This was for a 50th birthday where the wife asked me to incorporate hunting, fishing, and the family into the theme. The two white cakes on top were carved into the numbers "5" & "0" and covered in BC. This was my first paid cake!!

The antlers are made out of wire, tinfoil and masking tape covered in white and chocolate almond bark. Cake was carved out of a mixture of oval and round cakes. All done in buttercream. The deer was modeled after an actual deer mounted by the birthday boy! Thanks for all the help given here!
