I made this cake for my brother on his birthday. He is a hunter and I got this idea from a mixture of cakes from this website and from magazines. The deer is a buttercream transfer and the cake is iced in buttercream.

2-9x13 & 1-12x18 WASC sculpted into Chevy pickup. Pickup didn't turn out as well as I had hoped - wanted to airbrush the color-but none available so used black Wilton color spray (YUCK!!) then pearl dust over. The groom is tied to the front of the pickup is made from 50/50 fondant/gumpaste. His camo clothes are edible image. Driving the truck is the bride a Doe Deer (yes that is a deer-although not a very good replica). The sign on the back says it all - can't see the string of beer cans behind the truck.

This is my son's 10th birthday cake. It was my first cake after taking classes, so I did the camo pattern in stars. I transferred the design of the hunter and filled it in with black piping gel.

I'm from Louisiana, and here the favorite thing for men to do are fishing,
deer hunting, and ducking, so for a bridal show we came up with this.
It was a big hit with all the grooms to be. Of couse it was all made on
styro-foam. Hope you like it

BC with gumpaste figures. I got lots of inspiration from other fishing cakes on the site. The tree tutorial couldn't have been written any better!

My husband picks on my dad because he overdoes everything with hunting. So here is a dramatised version of what my dad does with his bazooka, huge heater, and yes, sonar. This dake is dark chocolate fudge with hardened chocolate on top and in the center. I also have caramel in the center. The top scene is made with color flow.

This was for my dad's birthday. He's an avid (but not very good lol!) deer hunter. BC icing, trees from a play set, and a deer I bought at Michael's.

MMF, foil 'form' wrapped in masking tape, covered in MMF, fins glued on with royal, 'painted' with gel colors and clear vanilla. I used a 'mounted bass' as my inspiration, I want the fish to be 'jumping' out of the water on top of a three-tiered groom's cake...will post final pics of cake after August 4th, but I had to share the fish now...thanks to all of you for advice...that's what this site is all about, Thank God for CC!

I completely copied this from Denise Charpentier with permission, and I am so thankful for her help. The cake was a huge hit, and I was happy with how it turned out. Although it was not nearly as good as hers. I left some things out cause frankly I couldn't figure out how to do it.

I made this cake for my brother-in-law. If anyone is wondering, the symbol on the left cake is the Ol' Tom's emblem. The reason I put this on his cake is because he has it tattooed on his arm. The skull head was just a ceramic arrangement. It is all buttercream.

This one was fun to make; but, we were sitting at the party & all of a sudden I realized I forgot to put "Happy Birthday" on it! LOL! Oh well. Another thing - I meant for the river to run over the side but a friend called & we talked while I was doing the sides; I proceeded to put camo right over the spot on the side where the stream should have been. Tee hee! Oh well again! This really was fun to make. I didn't stress over it ONE TIME! Now THAT is a miracle! LOL! Need to perfect the camo technique still.

This cake was made for a banquet. I used Wilton Mist to get the
camouflage look, the turkey is fondant and so is the hunter and gun. Cake is a little off center they decide to move after I put it together.

I made this for my friend who is a logger. He also enjoys hunting, but wasnt able to do so this past year. Notice the sign says "no hunting". So we found humor in knocking down a few of these trees ontop of the deer. "Does this count?" He loved it....but did let me know he uses a chainsaw, not hand saws. :( My cake deco stores didnt have one in stock and those big ones just dont fit on cakes too well. I did what I could.

This was probably my most unusual request for a cake so far. (I'm still pretty new to this) The boy wanted a dog "treein" a racoon on top of his cake. The cake is covered in CBC. There are racoon heads and tails sticking out of various trees and bushes all around the cake that were all piped on. The tree, racoon, and dog are all gumpaste/fondant.

Groom's cake for son-in-law, travel issues, carried cake 75 miles, had to make two days in advance, high heat and humidity, but overall, I'm pleased. Fish is made of fondant, everything else is buttercream, the flower girl destroyed the greenery that was supposed to be put around the bottom of the cake, que sera!!
