First Birthday Party combo - smash cake, cupcakes, and favor cookies, all with a cupcake theme. I made a 'jumbo' cupcake to use as the top tier on the smash cake, so her's would match all the guests!

I got little instructions - just hot pink and lime green, polka dots and a big fondant bow. Not too thrilled with the bow, but it'll suffice!

My stepdaughter turned 14 this weekend so I made her a special mini cake to take back home to her mom's house (she doesn't bake). This was 6" of hot pink, orange, and red gerbera daisies (loosley interpreted!) - bright and cheerful like Paige! I love you Paige!

These are cookies to go on a birthday cake. The birthday boy requested "foods you can buy at a mall food court." Yikes! Thanks to antonia74 for letting me use her hamburger and hot dog design! He was thrilled when he saw them. I posted the finished cake, too.

I made this for my mother-in-laws birthday. It was only my 2nd cake. I was up until 2 am and learned a whole lot about icing color... first off, my drop flowers are WAY too pink!!! I was going for subtle and missed it by a mile. Also had a coloring catastrophe with my icing color. I was going for buttercup yellow and ended up with babypoop. I started with buttercup and it was way too bright. I read on here about toning down yellow with violet... well, don't do it in large quantities! Only to offset the natu

Customer asked for cookies to match the invite (which I never saw!). She said it was cheetah print with hot pink... here is my take on that theme! I gave her half trendy and half traditional designs just in case I wasn't feeling her vision! LOL

Made these (and three others) for my children's teachers and school staff for the last day. Was tempted to make gumpaste letters that just said "DONE" and add to the cake! LOL Very easy to mass produce as all the cakes were dark chocolate fudge with ganache filling. Baked, torted, and frosted at the same time and then decorated assembly line. Funny though, they all turned out a bit different! (and my cuticles are still dyed hot pink!)

Got this from a Wilton yearbook. I was really disappointed w/ how it came out. The theme wasn't as obvious as I had hoped it would be and I had to explain what it was :( Plus my baby looked more like a potato head w/ swamp thing hands. I am posting it so others who see it in the yearbook can look at mine to see how to go about it differently.

The customer is having an "Adorable Idol" birthday party for her daughter. She sent me a photo of the child dressed in her "Diva" outfit for the party. I designed the cake around the photo. Cake is decorated in buttercream with gumpaste stars attached to wire (my first time having something "stick out" of the cake). Thanks to cambo for the cake plaque inspiration!!

I did this for my son's birthday. We had a "cafeteria" themed birthday. We really just wanted an excuse to have a food fight! The hot dog bun, milk carton and tater tots were done from pound cake. The tray, napkin, hot dog were fondant. The relish and onions were cut up gummie bears. Thanks for looking!
