For my sons 1st Birthday I wanted something he would recognize. I picked out several cars he played with and built it around that.

I did a fun picnic theme for a contest... they were all done in buttercream. I had to complete the whole table full of cakes in 3 hours! They were all styrofoam except for the marble cake

This was my first attempt at doing anything with fondant! This is a yellow cake with fudge filling, frosted with chocolate buttercream. The charcoal "briquets" are actually silver shimmer dust, my dh's idea! The cheeseburgers and hot dogs are fondont. It wasn't so hard to work with; though, I don't think I'll be using it to cover a cake any time soon!

This is a cake I did in about 25 minutes. I had the cake made already in the freezer. Wasn't expecting company on Father's Day. So did a rush job. All is buttercream except the hot dogs. Those are fondant.

I made this cake for a family gathering for father's day. The cake is a Pillsbury chocolate cake and is made from two 8x2" round cakes. I hollowed out the center and filled it with marshmallows that were colored red and black. The cake is frosted in chocolate buttercream.

This cake was made for a "school's out" pool party that was carved in the shape of the actual pool. jello/piping gel for the water, cake covered in bc with fondant/gumpaste accents. Figure was molded out of marzipan ( i should have practiced working with marzipan before last night).

I have a thread about this in the cake decorating forum. This cake is not necessarily a happy cake. We will find out in a few more days.

Hi, this is Chocolate cake with butter crème frosting and fondant accents. The hot tubs are jumbo cupcakes frosted with Butter crème and the people are fondant with frosting hair. The palm trees are almond fruit rolls cut in half and the palms are fondant, the coconuts are chocolate covered cranberries.

This was for a combination of events. It was my husbands b-day, our anniversary and farthers day, all on the same day. We went to Ky. speedway to see a nascar race, and we were in a Rv, so naturally we were grilling out too. So I thought this was the perfect cake for the events. Cake was a 10 inch spring form pan. Covered it in black bc, grill lines where white bc, then painted with nu-silver luster dust. Hamburgers, hotdogs, cheese ,tomatoes and pickles are all made out of mmf. Easy one too make.

Fondant covered Chocolate cake. I used the airbrush (which I should have bought YEARS ago!!!) Lots of fun to make! Cookie cutters to make the circles and a few feathers to top it off. :)

I made this cake at the same time that I made the cacti cakes. I made this cake by using a ghost pan. I trimmed off the arms and kind of shaped it to a pepper. My dh made the stem! He is so clever!! I rolled up a paper towel and coated it in my green icing.

My parents love their hot tub so I thought this would be cute for their anniversary. I used jell on the fondant bubbles. The heads are cake too! I guess everything is edible but the "alcohol" candles!

Made cupcakes plus two other cakes for my brother's wedding rehearsal picnic! The burgers are made with vanilla wafers & choc. mint patties, & the hot dogs are made with wafers as well, and the 'meat' is a starburst candy that I molded by lightly heating in the microwave for a few seconds. A Big Thank YOU to RiSeki for helping me out with this one!!!!

Each cut from a 9X13 one white one chocolate. BC icing with MMF accents. For two sisters each flip flop had there name and age on the back. My favorite pair I have done yet. They were having a pool party and I even found ribbon to match that said pool party!

was for a 50th anniversary party w/ a picnic themed party....14" yellow cake covered in BC & MMF...I painted the checker design on and made the plates, sunflowers and salt & pepper shakers out of GP....It just so happened that the couples initials are S&P (hence hearts on the shakers)....cheeseburgers are cupcakes accented with little MMF sesame seeds on top...napkin & hot dogs are MMF & watermelon is rice krispies covered in MMF....ants are BC....no toothpicks or dowels in this one....100% edible!

This cake is my first try at fondant. The hot dog and ketchup bottle are both fondant. Cake was for a 5 year old girl who wanted her birthday party at the "Varsity", which is why there is a "V" on the cake.

Hot pink boustiee (sp?) for a lingerie shower. I used an 11x15 pan, and carved it to the shape. I used the mini-ball pan to make the "top". All buttercream icing. The color turned out great!

I was very happy with this cake. I got the idea from another CCer and used all buttercream as did she. I don't have an airbrush machine so I used the Wilton Spray-on Color
