I was asked to do this cake for a friends 5yr olds bday. I knew of high school musical but have never watched it. I looked here and found a lot of them all very similar so I copied and added some of my own little details. Thanks to all whom I got some ideas.

A high school musical cake with some ideas borrowed from CC (thanks, everyone!) and a few of my own twists. I just love gumpaste roses and had to incorporate them in somehow!

WASC cake covered in BC. Pearl necklace and earrings are BC with lustre dust. Shoe is rice krispy treats covered in fondant with silver dragee accents. It was my first shoe ever, so its a little rough, if anyone knows good ways to cover this shape in fondant, please let me know!

Inspired by the other High School Musical cakes on Cake Central, this marble cake is iced in buttercream frosting. The character silhouettes were done using piping gel, which was tinted black. The "light bulbs" in the logo are edible pearls purchased at a local cake supply shop.

For a 7 yr old's bday. Her mom wanted it to resemble a Lillie Pulitzer purse. I got the colors and pattern close enough. I had to come up with shoes to match. It's a good thing I do cakes and not shoes!!! The cake is a 1/4 sheet, cut in thirds and then stacked. It's covered with MMF and a pink boa. The shoes are gumpaste/fondant using socake's template.

This cake is for a family friend. She wanted High School Musical...2 (not 1 but 2) and she wanted Troy somewhere on the cake. This is a WASC (minus the almond but more Vanilla) with 1/3 toffee almond coffee creamer. Everybody who has done this is right, it's the best tasting cake I've ever had! Buttercream dream frosting. The lettering is fondant painted in gold luster dust. The cake is sprinkled with blue sugar crystals. Everybody enjoyed the cake very much!

f this movies stays as popular as it has been, I might have to track down some cutters in the font that they use - it takes forever to cut out each of those letters by hand. 11X15" white cake, iced in BC - the stage, curtains, profile of the kids, letters and hearts are MMF......TFL!

This was made for a coworker who is a huge fan. M&M's were used for the "fans" in the stands. I put small "good luck" type signs on toothpicks to be like the fans were holding them up in the stands. Broncos logo is BCT.

This was made for my friend's daughter birthday today. 10 in, 7 in, and 5 in cakes. Chocolate and white cakes. All buttercream. The picture was printed and covered. The letters were cookie cutters that I pressed into the cake to pipe in the yellow. I'm getting better. :) Thanks for looking.

Fruit cake (believe it or not for a 11 year olds birthday cake), covered in marzipan and fondant. gumpaste "sign board" with gumpaste lettering, royal icing writting on sides of cake. photo's are laminated and "framed" with gumpaste, around the sides are a packet of popcorn, a coke, a micraphone and a roll of film - unravelling.
thank you for looking and comments are welcome

Hi sugar friends!
This is the budget to high dollar John Henry series you requested. There are a total of 4 pics, but the one I posted already, so won't be able to duplicate. This is pic # 1. Each pic they add more to it. Thanks for peeking!

Design was totally inspired by Etta1025 - thanks for posting your wonderful cake! I used my new projector to shine the image onto my cake, then I traced it with a toothpick, outlined it and filled it in.....it was a very time-consuming process! Peach cake, BC decorations. Sides (which you can't see in the pic, sorry!) have stars and basketballs on them. Thanks for looking!

This is one made for a 9 year old little girl. She was having a karaoke party specifically singing to Hannah Montana and High School Musical. The logos are hand cut and the Hannah Montana logo has little icing dots piped on to mimic the lights on the original logo. I was running short on time and am a little disappointed with the High School Musical logo, but all in all, it was a fun cake!

Thanks for the help from a couple of cc'ers. I used some of your ideas, but added a few of my own. I really like using the invitation, it looked more like the people were on the stage. The girl really loved it. She is a High School Musical nut.
