This was my first attempt at a Shoebox cake. The box was made out of 2- 9X13 sheet cakes. I iced them in buttercream and the accents are made of fondant. The roses are gumpaste and the shoe is made of fondant. The shoe is embellished with silver draggies. The lady I made the cake for is a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority, so I added their Greek letters as the shoe label. The pattern for the shoe can be found in my gallery.

Cake made for my daughter's best friend's 18th Birthday. She gave me carte blanche for the cake, which is great for it means you can make any style or theme cake you like yourself, but I also found myself to be somewhat nervous about it. What if the cake I made her wasn't what she'd hoped for? Luckily she was the happiest girl ever when she saw her cake. :D

Coach shopping bag with bebe shoe and shoe box with opened gift of a coach wallet. The polish has an A for her name and the Coach pearl bracelet is made out of fondant and sprinkles. First time doing all of this diva stuff. Note to self when overlapping cakes make sure supports are all the way to the edge of the cake underneath. The shoe box was covered in fondant panels and looked good until the handle of the shopping bag(that I was so smart in putting the box on top of) caused the front panel to start buckeling. I did take it back apart and put more support under the box and the birthday girl loved it. It was a long way from point a to z though!!!!!

Colors and damask pattern to match shower invite. Used my Cricut Cake for the center of the damask and cutters for the outer part (it was too LATE to continue my learning curve with the Cricut). MMF. Purse is cake. Shoes are fondant. Bottom tier is styrofoam (they didn't need that much cake and I wanted this look), 8" two layers, 5" one layer, 6" square two layers. Dress matches bride's dress. I'm really happy with how this cake turned out. Box lid is fondant covered foam core. The gumpaste lid I had made in advance turned out to be too small so I had to improvise quickly. It's bulkier than the gumpaste and I don't like that but I needed it. Ring and flower are gumpaste.

WASC covered in fondant with fondant stripes and gumpaste accents. It was my final cake for the Wilton's fondant and gumpaste class. This was my first time ever covering a cake with fondant so I was happy with it.

Chocolate cake with smooth buttercream icing. Fondant tissue paper, stripes, name, handles, lace, high heel, and letters. (Didn't have lace cutter or mold so I cut out a bunch of black fondant flowers and laid a strip of black fondant ribbon across them.)

Tiffany box, lipstick and high heels! 6" square cake covered & decorated in MMF. I meant to put a "lid" on the box but we're having a heatwave right now and my MMF was too soft & sticky. Shoes and bow are gumpaste - I couldn't wait to try out my Jem shoe cutters! Lipstick is MMF.

This was a sweet 16 cake for a girl who received some very expensive shoes! I think the cake only cost a quarter of what the real shoes cost! Boxes are buttercream, shoe is modeling chocolate!

I made this cake for a bridal shower. The bride is going to wear blue Christian Louboutin heels on the big day, so I recreated the shoe. It was a surprise and she loved it. The cake was carved from 2-9x13 sheet cakes that were stacked to 4 1/2 inches tall. The lid was also cut from a 9x13 sheet cake and is 1" tall. All were covered with fondant. The tissue paper was made from gumpaste rolled thin and I laid it in crumpled up tissue paper to get its shape. You can't tell but it was dusted with shimmer dust. The shoe was made from gumpaste and painted with edible varnish and the roses were fondant.
