This was for a friends birthday who wears designer shoes. Lid and box are cake. Lid covered in fondant, box buttercream w/fondant accents. Shoe, tissue and flowers are gumpaste. This was my first attempt at a box, so not my best, but it turned out pretty cute!

This is the cake we made for the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure Breast Cancer cake challenge. It won first place!! All the cakes in the competition were auctioned off with the proceeds going the the Breast Cancer fund. Everything on this cake is edible with the exception of the butterflies which I made out of Model Magic, a non toxic modeling clay and the top round globe which is styrofoam. The tennis shoes I made were from a design I saw on cake central. The highheel was made by my partner Christy Vega.

My first request for a shoe - Gumpaste shoe - Fondant covered, chocolate cake, raspberry torked shoe box. I used rice paper for the filler. - I admire and appreciate all the pics on CC of shoes. CSM: fondant covered carved chanel purse. Lots of fondant straps and gold painted accents. High heel and lip stick are fondant as well. Lots of details on a purse like this. It was fun though. I loved the stitching and complexity of the details from the picture they sent me. Thanks for looking!

This cake was fun to do as it was a lot of firsts for me. My first fondant shoe, (no template or special drying thing.. I feel like investing though after this!) my first book, first hat. It was supposed to be 2 books and the hat, but the customer called last minute and changed her servings by HALF. I was so mad... I did it anyways and let my hubby eat the other book. LOL! The book was Strawberries and Cream cake, the hat was Chocolate Fudge. All vanilla buttercream and vanilla MMF.

Was asked to incorporate all the things that my friend loves in life for her 60th birthday, and you can see, that's a lot. A bit dissappointed, I felt rushed. But- the SPS system worked like a dream, it was over 100 with no air in the venue. I was pleased with Minnie's hat and ears, kids and gumpaste shoe. Most important, she adored it all. Chocolate cake, Satin Ice.

Done for a girl who LOVES leopard print. Chocolate cake, choc ganache and MM fondant. Leopard pattern hand painted (harder than I thought it would be...bigger print next time!). Sprayed some Pam the night before pick up for the shine on the fondant (rub it in a bit). Gumpaste rings and belt buckle. Gumpaste shoes (pattern in CC template gallery). Saw somewhere on here to paint w/ gold luster dust mixed with veg oil. Tried it here, but it doesn't dry and breaks down gumpaste (got absorbed) won't do that again.

Thanks to bobwonderbuns of CC fame for her guidance with this cake. I don't know any plastic fabricators so I made the support myself with some wood. I took pics along the way and will include them. PM me if I can be of further help or guidance. Things I learned: don't foil cover your cake board (in this case the wood), use cardboard. Cake slid on foil causing the large heel area. And/or use foam core glued on the incline (make it food safe...of course) so you can dowel that area of cake. Everything else pretty much explained in pics. Heel is a dowel covered in RKT, choc cake (dense recipe), MMF hand painted w/ paste color mixed w/ vodka. Don't secure the shoe to the board until you are ready to put cake on it. Decorate it on the board.

I used gum paste that I had tinted black. It took them days to dry, because I had to use so much coloring to get it black. I painted them with vodka after they dried. That made them shiny. I absolutely LOVE my High heel shoe cutter set!!!! For those that asked here is a link to a site to order, although I got mine from a slice of heaven. ( slice-heaven. com ) Global Sugar Art has them also. http://www.globalsugarart.com/product.php?id=18200
