This cake was completely inspired by _ChristyB_'s version of Hello Kitty. I loved her use of color and flowers. I changed the actual "kitty" and added gumpaste letters for the birthday girl's name. This was a 10" round strawberry cake with buttercream and fondant decorations. Kitty was made with Royal Icing.

O.K. I didn't get the darn cupcakes close enough together and her nose is starting to sink. It made it to delivery and they were happy with this anyway (thank goodness!)

Made this cake for my niece, who LOVED it. It was actually for her 4th birthday, she was so envious of her brothers smash cake on his 1st birthday, I decided to make her one for her birthday, too. I'm glad I did. Thanks to AITZA for the design inspiration. Decorations are all buttercream.

I love hello kitty and have been waiting to do this cake. She was really hard for me to draw though, and didn't think to do it anyway but freehand. Next time I will charge more for this.

By the way, couldn't have done this without the help of everyone here on cakecentral. Everyone has encouraged and inspired me so much, I feel like I'm getting so much better!

The topper wasn't hello kitty's full face so hubby had the idea to make it look like she was looking out from under the flowers. Flowers royal icing, buttercream on chocolate cake. I made the cakes & put half the flowers on the top cake, transported both on a plane from FL to Boston. We surprised my sister for her b-day (she didn't know we were coming), stacked the cakes, put hello kitty on, put more flowers, bead border, etc all in the backseat of a car. She was surprised when we arrived at restaurant.

Made for my dd's 5th bday. My first stacked cake. Bottom is 11x15 & was strawberry. Kitty was shaped from a 9" stacked chocolate fudge cake. Iced in buttercream w/ fondant bow, facial features & flowers. This was so much fun & less time consuming than past bday cakes.

This will be going on a cake for a girl who loves Hello Kitty and is adopted from China. Her mother says the ladybug is a national good luck symbol.

I made this for a little girl whose mother is obsessed with Hello Kitty. I dont know if this was for mom or birthday girl. Anyway, the cake is a single layer lemon cake torted with raspberry buttercream covered with fondant. The whiskers are fondant covered spaghetti.

This was a last minute order. Maybe with the extra money I earned I will buy sugarshacks new buttercream DVD! I really, really could use some improvement! Anyway, I hope she likes it. I worked on it all day yesterday with my kids running around. I do have to say (maybe because I have 3 boys) that I *love* the shades of pink and the confetti that I just happend to get in the mail yesterday! Hello Kitty is a chocolate transfer.

It's just white cake with buttercream icing, 1/4 sheet cake. Threw on some royal icing pieces I had so it wouldn't look so plain ( the couple of flowers and the bluebird). They actually wanted to just put an edible image on the cake so it would be quick since they called last night and wanted it today!! But since Hello Kitty is copyrighted and I couldn't get an edible image of it, this was the best I could do on an over night notice lol!

For a 4 year old girl who likes princesses, and Hello Kitty. Her mother tells me that she was adopted from China and that the ladybug is a national symbol of good luck. First time doing swags....I'll get it right eventually.

This cake didn't turn out as planned. I made fondant to put over it before the Hello Kitty, and it was such an ugly color of pink that I opted to frost it with buttercream, hence the rough looking frosting job! I added a little mouse on the side out of fondant because my daughter loves mice!
