12-9-6 heart shape wedding cake. All cakes covered in white rolled fondant. Black brushed embroidery vine and leaf designs on cake with mini 5 petal flowers and buds as accents. Dimensional 5 petal gum paste flowers with black brush embroidery designs attached with royal icing. Twisted pillar construction with fountain set up. This was the most different cake I have ever made and one of the most challenging because of the black on the white--no room for mistakes since the black stains the white fondant

This is my first cake by myself. I did some around Easter with a friend and got bit by the bug. It is a mini heart 2 layer white cake. Crumb coat is BC. It is covered in MMF. My DH doesn't like the taste of colored icing so I just did it in white. It's not really our anniversary, but I just wanted to play around. I thought it looked like an anniversary cake after I got done with it. It has real problems, but for my first try, I am happy with it.

A surprise for the bride & groom....for their picnic rehearsal dinner with red & white checkered tablecloths; left the design up to me so I played off the red & white. Triple chocolate cake and marble layers with black cherry BC filling. BC with royal icing dots and hearts, fondant ribbon and hearts on wire painted with white pearl dust. Traveled 2 hours in horrible humidity, so the 'cloud' under the hearts on top fell, and then was assembled by my friend. They loved it despite minor imperfections!

NF with royal icing. I made these for a 50th wedding anniversary. While flooding, their was a BLACKOUT! I had to finish them with the light from a lantern- it was interesting. I have a few more photos, I made 70 in all, and all are different. Thanks for looking.

I used a Tinkerbell icing transfer for the image and made royal icing flowers for it. The name is made of royal icing, though quite fragile, the "y" broke when I was putting it on so it doesn't look that great. I was happy with this cake, although I still get really frustrated trying to smooth my sides.

This is my all time favorite piece. It was made with white chocolate gumpaste for a chocoloate festival several years ago. It was shown on The Food Network's Top 5 when they first started showing different competitions around the country.

I nearly came unwound when a JUDGE decided to touch them to see if they were real. Thankfully, someone who knew me stopped him and let him know that I had made them and they were chocolate.

Just wanted to share the first cake order my sis(frostingfreak) and I have gotten. We only had 1 day notice and this is what we came up with! It was a learning experience...you definitely have to let things dry! She was on a balance beam...but not for long! So...I made a colored mat for her to sit on. The things requested were gymnastics, her name and the colors. It was really quite festive for a 13 year olds b-day. (hence, the 1 and 3 she's holding) I hope she liked it!

This is a yellow cake mix cake with store-bought icing for my son's birthday cake. I found the picture of the happy bunny and used piping gel to transfer it to the cake. This is a 10 inch heart shaped pan. If I had it to do over again, I'd use the round pan so I'd have had room for one of the Happy Bunny's lines.

Another take on my malted chocolate ganache covered cake. This time with different use of malted BC to decorate. This cake inspired a bride to select this as her wedding cake this October. Attractive AND delicious!

All BC except for the gold dragees that outline the border and the centers of some of the flowers. This gave it just a little sparkle and shine!

Even though I am posting this as a shower cake it was actually made as a wedding cake:) A small family celebration for a Monday wedding.
The hearts are 10x2" layers, split & filled w/chocolate b'cream; then iced w/white b'cream. Flowers are royal dropflowers attached to heavy guage floral wires. Non edible dove & rings.
This is my version of a cake in a Wilton yrbk. (1999?)

The bride asked for this copy of the red & white heart cake from the U.K. company "Have Your Cake And Eat It" (www.haveyourcakeandeatit.org) but in her colours of peach & ivory. I did her version using buttercream to be lighter, but MAN is it hard to ice heart shaped cakes! I'm just not used to it. I don't even have the pans, so all the layers were cut by hand using 3 patterns. Feather boa as the topper was okay, but I didn't plan it out very well. Forgot that would stick to the icing b/c not fondant! Ick!

One of my first attempts at decorating--Buttercream frosting with mostly buttercream decorations; ruffles are fondant. the cake is a white recipe--added food coloring to make it pink and put pink sprinkles in the batter.

this is my first cookie bouquet and I am pretty happy with the end result. They are sugar cookies with the Wilton poured cookie icing. It tastes great and is easy to make and use.

This cake is four, 1 inch layers of cake. When assembled, it looked really high. Chocolate cake with chocolate mocha buttercream and ganache filling in between layers. The scrapes of this cake were tested many times. YUM YUM.

It's actually a replica of what my best friends wedding cake would have looked like if I would have been able to do it, just smaller version for the rehearsal dinner.

This cake is 10 inch double layer with 8 inch double layer right on top of that, separated with a small 6 inch double layer. I finished the top layers borders and the borders on the two heart cakes at delivery. Two 8 inch heart shape cakes for the side cakes. All iced in Buttercream with buttercream pink roses and royal icing drop flowers. The ribbon is silk, and the topper is also. Brides request. It went over very well. I was pleased, since this is only my third wedding cake in over 20 years.
