6 in practice hat box cake. The box and lid are the Cake Mix DR. tomato soup spice cake recipe with cinnamon buttercream. Covered in mmf with mmf decorations. My fondant is far from perfect but I was surprised how easy it was to put together! Thanks to Godiva and franjmc for the overall design idea.

Devils food with buttercream icing. Fondant bow & bands, and I used some left over flowers from course 2! My fiance thinks it looks like a womans hat from years gone by?

A cake made for a Ladies' Altar Guild Fall Luncheon. I used the napkin colors and the hat theme to come up with this "dessert" for the luncheon. All ladies in attendance were required to wear a festive hat ;-) This was a 10" round topped with a half ball pan 'crown'. All fondant. The ladies provided the cake stand.

I made this cake for one of my daughter-in-laws friends. It was for her Grandma. The roses on the hat are gum paste, the hat & gloves are fondant. The rest is done in buttercream icing. I got this idea from a cake on this web-site! Thanks for the idea!!

Made for a Ladies Luncheon celebrating 21 years of their Bible discussion group. "Hats Off to BSD" was the theme, and the client wanted 75 hats of all different shapes, colors, and styles! This was a fun order!

This was my first attempt at this cake. I was very happy with the results. I used buttercream icing and smartee candies for the buttons. I put two dots of icing on each button to make them look sewn on.

Hand carved and sculpted, I did not use a shaped pan. The man is hand molded from chocolate clay, as well as thomas' face. This was my first experience with chocolate clay. Easy for chubby figures, not skinny super heroes (see my superhero cake). the icing sagged a bit, but I was pleased and so was the birthday boy. 8 hours to complete including baking and making my own icings and clay.

This cake was created for my lovely MIL who has come to visit and taken from a Colette Peters design. It is a 8, 7, 6, inch chocolate cake with raspberry filling. It is covered in Satin Ice, it has a 50/50 gumpaste and Satin Ice fondant bow and the ribbon is straight Satin Ice. Your honest critique would be highly appreciated.

I made this cake for a customer who was throwing a baby shower for a friend. This friend is due to have her baby girl on Halloween. So the baby shower was a Halloween theme....how fun!

The cake is 10" & 8" chocolate round tiers with buttercream icing, accented with hand molded gumpaste figures. It was soooo much fun making this cake!

Thanks for looking!

14" square with a 6" carved hat. Hand painted badge. All of the gold was piped in chocolate first and then painted with gold luster dust. Their motto, Honor, Integrity, Loyalty, Self-Discipline and Professionalism was written all around the sides of the cake. Chocolate cake with Chocolate Syrup Frosting. Lots of things I would do differently "next" time.

Purple hat with a red band instead of the other way around. Polka dots on the board to match the napkins. Chocolate cake torted with vanilla buttercream and MMF band, bow and plaque. I left the plaque off so the customer could put it where they want it. This cake was fun to do!

Someone wanted cowboy theme and I copied cmmom's cake from here (thanks cmmom). She gave me a copy of the plates with bandana edge and cowboy and so I thought it would be great to get the detail of the bandana that I had laying around the house too. :-) Thanks for looking!
