I was inspired by pinkbunny's whimsical cake. My friend's daughter liked the popular mod colors, so I decided to make this cake. I liked the way it turned out.

This cake is covered in MMF. It is a 1/4 sheet chocolate cake with raspberry jam and buttercream filling. It's my first try at embossing a cake and making MMF roses.

I made this cake for my 5 year old nephew for getting is green belt in TaeKwon Do. It is a 6" chocolate cake with buttercream icing. The little guy and the belt across the cake are fondant. I was trying to make it look like he was doing a karate chop, but it kind of looks like a pastor blessing the congregation!!! I guess I need to work on that!

First try using fondant and making a bow. I used MMF, which I found to be much tastier than the prepackaged Wilton fondant. Next time, the fondant needs to be thinner, I need to make more loops for the bow, and I need to be sure to let everything sit for at least 24 hours.

This cake was ordered by a "Drug Rep" for delivery to a doctor's office. The theme was a new drug her company just released.

I was asked to make a full sheet cake (1/2 chocolate 1/2 white) for a friend's annual golfing event. All of my inspiration came from this site. Thanks everyone!

This is a cake dummy decorated for a Bridal Expo that i attended today with franjmc and koko4min.
Small cake, 6 5 and 4 inch dummies, covered in fondant, with gumpaste blossoms. This was very time consuming for such a small cake.

Lemon cake with rasberry filling. The color didn't mix well, so I had little green specks, bummer!

I did this cake for a sweet 16 birthday party. My first topsy-turvy cake. I was TERRIFIED something was going to happen to it, like it was going to collapse once I left the party, but it didn't! I have learned several lessons for next time though (like put my borders on at the site). Bottom tier was chocolate cake with oreo filling, middle tier was yellow cake with dark chocolate raspberry ganache filling, top tier was yellow cake with lemon filling.

French Vanilla with buttercream filling. MMF. Bow made of 1/2 mmf and gumtex, painted with luster dust. Edible pearls on bottom tier. Cant see much of the detail on the other tiers. This one was almost the death of me during set up... looks a little tilted but i think its the picture.

Wedding cake in white and green accents with Chinese "shuang xi" character used for weddings. This was for our "registry" marriage -- the "big cake" for the "big wedding" this year will also have the Chinese theme but it will be bigger. Had to have the Chinese characters after a decade living in Taiwan! All buttercream with fresh flowers.

A mad fan of the australian socceroos team (first team to qualify for the world cup in 32 years) was being given a surprise 70th birthday. His daughter decided on a dark chocolate mud cake made into the socceroos jersey with buttercream. These jersey cakes are sure becoming popular for us.

This was such fun! It's a double chocolate cake with BC frosting. I did all the MMF cutouts and placed them on the cake while the BC was still soft. The border was too fun to make. Now I'm looking forward to doing more with MMF!

First try at a full buttercream cake. Got a few raised eyebrows from other people in my course while icing the green coat. Could have used a few more daisies, perhaps.

I did these cupcakes for a baby shower last weekend. The little girl's name is Elyssa. I took the ideas from this site, so thanks! Everything was pink and green. I used IMBC and raspberry cheesecake mousse and pistachio mousse. Thanks for looking!

This was a birthday cake for my husband, and he requested that I do the logo for our new company, www.thethriftshopper.com. It's half vanilla, half chocolate cake with buttercream and MMF. The letters are done in color flow.

This is a Darth Vader I made for a friend who works for Starbucks(as an exec)...hence the white, green and black color scheme. I've made cakes using this cakepan before and have been using different color schemes cause Black and Grey get boring.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good food dye? I used gel, some brand I dont remember, but after everyone had eaten they all had black and green tongues and fingers. I dont want that happening again! Thanks!

This cake is a 10" round and a 8" round cake. Fondant bow, with drop flowers. I really had fun doing this cake, but could not get it smooth to save my life. I think that the overall cakes looks good, but the lime green icing and the pink icing did not look as good as it could have.

Just a last minute birthday cake for a young lady named Chris. Cakes are 12 inch and 8 inch. I found the topper at the dollar store and printed the sign and glued it on. Nothing special at all. Just a birthday cake.

This is a lemon with raspberry filling. It's maragrita themed. THe people on top are my first attempt at gumpaste figures & I was very proud until the humidity went to 100% in my house today & the bride snapped in half! The wedding still hasn't started & I'm waiting for the bride to call & say the bride is in a pile next to the cake. The things we bakers deal with!

This cake was inspired by Tuggy. She was very helpful by emailing me the instructions for the frog! (Why my frog turned out different - you got me! LOL!!) Cake is larger than it looks. Four 8" tiers of Chocolate with Bavarian Cream filling. Cake board is decorated with fondant and the wishing well cake is covered in Butter Cream with handmade MMF decorations. All decorations are edible! The groom is called Prince Charming so it was a hit at the wedding!

A VERY last minute cake, requested by my daughter for her soon-to-be MIL who ended up in ICU last week, but is home today and recovering nicely.

Daughter suggested making a cake with a fondant get-well card standing on top.

Not a bad idea ;-)

Used green edible glitter to accent the green buttercream roses. The theme is green because her birthday is on St. Patrick's Day.
