These cakes were made for the AKA's annual Twenty Pearls Scholarship Pagent. They request two full sheets one chocolate and one vanilla. I decorated them both exactly alike. The picture looks like a mirrored image but it is actually two cakes. I received lots of compliments on the flavor and decorations and even got a couple of orders from the event.

Cake for a baby shower. They don't know and won't be finding out what sex the baby is until it is born, so they wanted the colors to be very neutral without looking like a boy or girl. The cake is lightly airbrushed a pale yellow, with accents of a soft yellow and mint green.

This cake was made for one of my church members grandaughter. She called and ordered the cake and stated that the child liked the Bratz dolls. The grandmother didn't know what color scheme or anything. So this is what I came up with. When I delivered the cake to my surprise...the cake matched the decor almost perfectly...The decoratins were purple, lime green and hot pink. The little girl loved her birthday cake.

This was just a cake for a dinner party. It's carrot cake with pecan cream cheese icing (that's why there are brown pieces in the icing). I do a lot of henna, and like doing this flower, so I thought it would look cute on the cake. I love pink and green. It was a hit, and looked great on the table.

This is a dummy cake. I just wanted to do something fun with cornelli since I didn't get to practice it much in class last time. I just love the white on green, it's such a nice color combo. I think this cake will work for birthday, mother's day, anniversary or a bridal shower cake.

This is my second attempt at fondant, first attempt with MMF. (No pictures of the first disaster!)

It's all MMF, with devil's food cake and cookies and cream filling underneath.

And comments/critiques/suggestions welcome! :)

This is a baby shower cake I did for a friend to take to work. She and two of her co-worker's wives are pregnant and due within a month of each other. They are having 2 boys and a girl, so she wanted something 'gender-neutral'. This is what I came up with.

This was my 2nd Easter Egg that I did for my family. I had a lot of green frosting left-over from another cake....... so I was already part-way done before I started thinking "oh no! rotten egg!" What do you think, and be honest - it looks like a rotten egg, right? LOL... I just went with it, since it was for my own family & they just like to eat the cake anyway =)

This is a No Special Reason Cake! I just felt like playing around. Mistakenly I did the rosettes before putting on the Walnuts on the side. So I had to place each individual walnut by hand so I wouldn't get crumbs on the rosettes. :) Thanks for looking.

After participating in a discussion about this color scheme, I wanted to see how it would look. I like it...but my writing and roses still suck! This was my first attempt at cornelli lace, and while it's semi-OK...it's kinda in the same boat as my writing. Oh well...practice, practice, practice...

This cake was actually for a baptism. Bottom layer was vanilla, middle one was lemon-raspberry and top one was chocolate (big cake for 90 people). Fondant daisies. Got the idea out of a Wilton magazine, just made it bigger. I liked the way it turned out.
