This was a cake for a UMASS gradutiaon party. The bottom tier is alternating vanilla sponge and chocolate cakes with chocolate buttercream and covered in chocolate fondant. The middle layer is a red velvet cake with whipped cream and fresh strawberries covered in MMF. The diploma is made from fondant, the flowers are gumpaste, and the mortar board is chocolate with fondant tassels.

This is a cake I made for my friend that just got her masters degree!!
The cake is devils food with bc frosting, the top is made out of dark chocolate fudge with bc frosting over the top. This was a task I will not try again. The fudge kept cracking and breaking. Any advice is well appreciated!

This is an idea from the Wilton 2006 yearbook-- in the cupcake section. The faces are candy. The hats are made of fondant. Piped eyes and features using royal icing. First time making cupcakes -- but I thought my son and his friends would like seeing their names and faces.

Andrew's graduation cake. The state of Missouri covered in rolled buttercream. Seemed easy enough but, boy, it seemed like everything was a challenge. I ended up coloring granulated sugar and using that as a sprinkle to cover booboos

I made these Cupcake flower pots for my youngest kidlets class for the end of year, going into Kindergarten! 2 oreos wrapped up in plastic wrap inside the pot, cupcake on top, frosted with chocolate frosting, covered in chopped up oreos. 2 gummy worms sticking out and an oreo as the flower. :) I also made up bags of soil and printed some copies of seed packets (taped around edges) and put seeds in the little packets so when they are all done eating their goodies they can plant their own little flower to watch it grow! Fun stuff!

10" square and 6" square, both white cake with white buttercream. The fondant dots and letters are actually purple and gold but it's hard to tell. It's also not a great angle for the picture, but the best of the 3 I took.

This cake was for my son's graduation. It is BC except for the top of the had (fondant). The bottom layer has all the kids first name around it. the 2nd layer I wrote Aa, Bb, Cc etc. and wrote 2 math problems. (My son gave me the math problems to put on the cake.) Everyone loved the cake and a lot of the kids posed next to it with their name showing.

1/2 choc. 1/2 yellow w/BC. Got a call from the customer 30 minutes before delivery to add another name if possible! Luckily since I had frosted the cake the night before it had crusted and I was able to scrape off the original two names and redo it. Whewww!

This is a graduation cake I did recently (photos are blacked out for purposes of posting here).

The left side had a baby picture and the right side was a current picture of the graduate. I used the larger of the Wilton book pans, but put it on top of an 11x15 cake to make it taller. This was a lot of cake and very heavy. If you make a cake this large, I recommend putting it on a plywood cake board to keep it from cracking.

Bad picture of the first grad/book cake I did for my neice. This is a 3 layer cake. I re-did the cake again in a 4 layer version for another grad party. Either way - I thought it was a cool idea.

This was a last minute order for a girl graduating kindergarten. They wanted something "spring" looking. I put math problems along the side on the top tiered and the bottom tier on the backside I wrote, "I can read!" and "A+" grade a couple of times.

White Almond sour cream cake w/pineapple filling and whipped cream buttercream. MMF top, diploma, and numbers. It was hard getting the MMF and icing to match perfectly burnt orange, but I was pleased w/it. Thanks beckykasunic for the inspiration.

Iced in BC. The cap, diploma, CHS and 2006 in fondant. I did a reverse transfer on my computer for the writing, taped wax paper over that and traced with the #3 tip. Then I put it in the freezer and once frozen, I rubbed it into the cake. I had to put it back in the freezer to get the wax paper off but the writing looks like I iced it in.

This is a 1/2 sheet cake shaped to a book. The cake was for a Graduation and it is to resemble a memory book. It has pictures of the student through his years of school including his grad picture. The grad cap is made w/a 6" round cake as the base and the top is solid chocolate with a royal icing tassle to match the school colors. The cap is secure with dowels.

This is the first photo cake I've done, the mother of the graduate wanted his preschool graduation picture and his high school graduation picture on the cake. I don't have access to edible images or the supplies to make my own. So I took the two photos, scanned them into my computer, printed them out on photo paper and then had them laminated. I iced the cake in butter cream and used butter cream to attach the pictures to the cake. The stars and curls are made of fondant.

I made this cake for Senior Day at our church. We have kids that go to school in two different towns (our church is situated inbetween the two), so one side was for one school and the other side was for the other. The names of the graduates are on the scrolls on the appropriate side.

Made for triplet girls graduating high school. Made the three of them in their hot pink convertible pulling their mountain of luggage behind on a chain. I had made this cake once before for my nephews with different colors and themes. It turned out cute for girls. They wanted bright, fun, tropical colors. Made a fondant diploma for each and rolled it up next to her name.
