This was made for an 8th grade promotion. The Mother who ordered this cake wanted to acknowledge her son's accomplishments, by writing them on the cake. But this is only a 9x13" sheet cake, and there simply was not enough room to write everything she wanted. Since the cake had an edible image anyway, I used my computer to print out the text onto the edible sheet and cut them out to place on the cake. I hope she likes it!

This cake was for my neice's graduation from Nursing School. I got the nurse's head off of the Internet from a Clipart site; copied and enlarged it. I used two cake mixes; 13x9 pan and 9x9 round pan for the head. I used bakery frosting: (Crisco, powdered sugar, vanilla and milk.) I made drop flowers the day before I decorated and put them in the freezer until I was ready to use them.

The preschool teachers wanted a cake that went with their theme. I found the picture of the cat in one of my children's coloring books. I traced the picture onto wafer paper than placed it on the cake.

A graduation cake for a school whose colors are black, orange and white. They wanted chocolate icing and said I could use that instead of black (thank goodness!). The emblem is a FBCT, diploma is MMF, cap is the top of a jumbo cupcake covered with MMF. Mortar is a piece of cardboard wrapped with MMF and the tassel is MMF pushed through a garlic press! I was really happy with this one except for the writing.

This was my first cake done outside of my kids birhtdays. It was a graduation cake for one of the kids from our church. He was active in several sports and wanted that incorprated on the cake. All I could think of was to put a bunch of balls on it. With the help of this site and all the awsome ideas, I added the yearbook base and icing sheet diploma. Tassle made from fondant and kandy klay, writing on binding was edible marker on icing paper.

My neice didn't want a traditional graduation, the school colors, plain and boring. What better fun to have a hawiian luau themed party and cake. The flowers are airbrushed royal icing lillies and the text is made of colored chocolate, with pearls for that extra little zing.

Didn't know what I was going to do at first. Made the cake and sort of winged it from there. On the side of the cake I wrote words that were relating to his graduation and schooling. I used my pasta maker for the tassels, had a buch left over in that color and decided to use it as my border, just for something different.

This cake has the same yearbook base from my previous post. This cake was for my husbands cousin who will be studying nursing. She wanted a cake with graduation stuff (cap, tassle, diploma), so here it is. Cap has iced cardboard top (after my chocolate one broke) Nursing cap is fondant with kandy klay stripe. Logo was drawn on rice paper with edible markers as were the numbers (2006) on the yearbook. Diploma is fondant under rice paper. Ribbon is regualr ribbon

Got this idea from the galleries. 12 inch square bottom used 1/2 the sports ball for the cap. The top of the cap is a peice of cardboard covered in frosting. I made the tassel out of cross stich thread. Choc. cake, with BC frosting.

This cake was sooo fun to do! It was inspired by one of Sharon's (sugarshack) cakes. This was for a homeschool graduation. Their theme was balloons and bright colors, making it easy to do a whimsy - style design.

A simple white sheet cake with buttercream icing & gumpaste hydrangeas & rice paper butterflies. The little flowers around the edges are royal icing. I was super tired with I did this & it was for a close friend & I only charged $15.00 Considering I decorated it with leftover flowers (from a wedding cake) in about 5 minutes I thought it turned out pretty well.
