these are some gumpaste calla's and hand made cake jewelry with pearls and crystals that i made for an upcoming wedding cake, the 'bride to be' saw my design today and is really happy with what i came up with.. which is a big relieve because she seemed quite fussy and i didn't think i would be able to please her at all......lol. Actual cake will be covered in ivory fondant so please excuse my crappy cake dummies i use these to play around with designs...

This four tier wedding cake was iced in buttercream. I decorated it with white chocolate fleur de lis and crosses using a candy mold and painting them with gold luster mixed with vodka. The borders are fondant painted with the gold luster as well. The cake topper is two white chocolate fleur de lis, again made with a chocolate mold, sandwiched together with warm chocolate and a lollipop stick. Once the chocolate set, I trimmed the edges with a craft knife, painted it with gold luster.

This cake is a simple cake that was done for the cub scouts Blue and Gold Banquet. I was going to do a fbct, but ran out of time. The Arrow of Light is a badge earned when a cub scout graduates to the boy scouts.

Short on time for a wedding show, I used ribbon and painted some fondant pearls I had with gold dust. Gumpaste bow with gumpaste roses edged in gold dust. Kind of funky, but I got a lot of positive comments on it. Go figure!

Cake is frosted with IMBC icing. Tuxedo and dress are made from fondant. Side of the cakes are airbrushed with old gold luster dust while some of the fondant decorations are airbrushed with super pearl dust. The cake was ordered for 2 babies dedication (boy & girl) + to celebrate boy's mom bday. This is my first time using IMBC as frosting & create conelly lace... although IMBC tasted good, I had some hard time to make it smooth (especially on the top). Not really happy with the connelly lace either.

Yellow cake with raspberry filling and buttercream icing.
The leprachaun design was freehanded from a picture, then partly filled in
with icing and partly airbrushed. It's hard to see from the picture, but there
are also shamrocks piped around the sides of the cake.

Chocolate cake filled and iced with almond BC and MMF accents. This cake was entirely inspired by meggylou's pot of gold cake. I ran out of black color and that's why the icing is more gray than black.

I did this cake for a family birthday party. Three birthdays for march, so three layers. The cake was a champagne cake with bakers buttercream filling and fondant icing. (will crumbcoat with a crusting buttercream next time - yikes sooooo lumpy!) Rainbow drape and pot of gold are fondant, spikes are gumpaste and four leaf clovers are colorflow.

My first wedding cake - almost a heart attack, I was sooo nervous. Anyhow, bride was pleased - Bottom layer fruit and the others are almond and vanilla sponge with Creme Au Buerre filling (the lightest yummiest filling ever!). Thanks for looking.

First cake I've ever decorated outside of Wilton classes (am taking fondant class now). For a friend's 6-yr old whose b-day party was on St. Patrick's day. He LOVES reptiles, hence the alligator/drogon/snake creature guarding the pot of gold. Bottom (blue) is 10" chocolate fudge cake with choc. buttercream under fondant. Pot is yellow cake with buttercream. Reptile is fondant. LOTS of things wrong with it this cake but I was very happy w/it.

I made this cake for my Son's 6th birthday. It was half of a loaf pan. I cut off a slice for the lid. I decorated the bottom with chocolate coins, perils, and rolos. Topped with the lid propped up with several toothpicks.

I did these for the court of a Mardi Gras ball. The customer who bought them put them each in a beautiful box and presented them to the court. Pretty cool.

A larger copy of this photo!! This is the monogrammed bridal shower cake I did a couple of weeks ago. The monogram was colorflowed over monotype corsiva font and gilded with lustre dust and confectioners glaze. The roses are white buttercream drydusted with gold lustre dust to highlight the bride's colors of yellow and green. Cake was zesty lemon to complete the thought, and was so heavy we had to build a special carrier for it!! (Thank God for handyman hubbies!!)

Anniversary cake for couple through members at church. It's a simple white butter cake from a mix and I had a lot of trouble with the second layer of the bottom 12" round. I baked 6, yes 6, till I got one that didn't sink when it cooled. The lady picked one from a design I showed here from someone here on CC so thank you for the idea. (I'm sorry I didn't keep track of who, she just liked the random vine around the cake.) Anyway, she changed to yellow roses and the gold leaves. I hope they like it.
