My daughter's 6th birthday cake. I got the idea from the 2hr cake book. The cake is fondant with a brick pattern rolled onto it. The towers are fondant. I made the tops of the turrets by covering cones with saran and covering that with royal icing

A cake my Daugther made as a school project. She did everything herself except putting it in and out the oven. She loved doing that cake.

This is icied w/ whipped icing. My first baby shower cake. I used a real pacifier in the babies mouth. I'm very new to cake decorating. Any tips and constructive criticisim (sp?) are greatly appreciated. Right now I just do cakes for family, no charge.

This is a close-up (kinda) of a sleeping baby made of fondant I put on top of a baby quilt cake I did for a baby shower. This was my first time ever working with fondant.

Here's a fun one. The clues I was given to work with were: baby pink, mint green, ribbons, flowers, garden, and ducks. Ducks were particularly special to the mother-to-be. So this is how I incorporated everything, with some help from the great folks in the forums. It's all MMF with tinted piping gel for the water. Had a ton of fun with it!

This was a fun cake to do. I'm still learning timing on everything and got caught working right up to the minute when delivery was due. Gulp. Whipped icing with royal icing flowers. Cookie bouquet. Choc/White cake.

This is my first attempt at decorating a cake like this. It was fun and turned out okay. I was surprised at how many bags of colors I needed!

I made this cake for my daughter's first birthday - it was a White Almond Sour Cream cake with Chocolate Cheese filling and Crusting Cream Cheese icing. It was delicious - I had a mishap the first time I made the cake. I was almost done and I went to turn it and it fell off the table! I was so upset and horrified...I had to start over and the finished product turned out well! I am proud - and check out the smash cake I mad eot match the theme!

Here is my daughter's smash cake - I wish I could post a picture of her eating it! It was so cute. It was also White Almond Sour Cream cake (6 inch) with crusting cream cheese filling and Chocolate Cheese icing. I made the drawing on the cake freehand (my first time) and I was pleased. The eyelashes turned out a bit too big due to the icing being soft (as I have a broken AC in the house!) . Other than that, so fun to make!

Yes, all buttercream. This little girl chose the theme "cats" from a party package site. I looked at the pictures and went with my version of the big-eyed cat.

This cake was for a friend's daughter's first birthday - i used the figurine I made during a Planet cake course. The cake design is also based on one of the Planet Cake website pictures. It is chocolate mud cake with fondant and the cupcakes are buttercake with fondant.

I made this cake for a "Tea for Two" party for a two-year old's birthday. I tried to match the colors and style to the invitation.

Made for a friends daughter. It was a sleep over party. I made all the girls sleeping and one wide awake to simulate that one of the girls next to her had wet the bed. the faces were made from cookies and the bodies under the blanket are twinkies that were cut in half. This cake still makes me smile when I see it!

This cake is for a neighbour's daughter. It took me forever! I did the sides in basket weave. I'm so used to using fondant, I'm really out of practice for doing an all buttercream design! The picture was based on a cake I saw on the internet - wanted to give the original creator credit but I can't find it anymore!

Did this cake last night for a baby shower, Ended up really liking it, inspired by different color combo's that I've seen here on C.C., done in BC with fondant accents.

I made this cake for a 3 yr old girl. Her birthday party theme was Baby and Me. They were to all bring their favorite doll and they would play dress up and mommy with their dolls.

I have a friend who sells Mary Kay and Creative Memories. So I created something to match her interests. She loves chocolate so the cake is chocolate and iced in white chocolate buttercream. The scrapbook pages, letters and embellishments are fondant.

The tiered cake was one I found on the internet. My thanks to the designer! I made it a yellow cake with Buttercream Icing. The dots, stripes, and bows are all made from rolled fondant. The Strawberry Shortcake was made of strawberry cake for my neice to "tear into" for her first birthday (I forgot the eyelashes - oops!). The cupcakes and the small strawberry are also strawberry cake. The candy pieces were bought.

All yellow cake with Buttercream Icing and Rolled Fondant ribbons and bows. The small green present was on it's own cardboard to be removed for the baby to "tear into" for her 1st Birthday.

This design came from a Wilton book. I couldn't find the baby angel in my area so I ended up making it with rolled fondant. The pink half circles and uppercase letters are also rolled fondant. the rattles and blocks were store bought. The drop flowers are made of royal icing (since I never could make a nice Buttercream drop flower directly on a cake). The rest of the cake is decorated with Buttercream Icing.
