This is one of two cakes for a surprise baby shower for a teacher at my boys' school. It's covered in a MMF/rolled buttercream combo. It was good to work with but I'm not sure I like the shinyness. It was much easier than I thought it would be to cover the head with fondant. I used an embosser to make a diamond pattern on the blanket and cut a fringe on the blanket. There's a pink MMF bow on her head. I painted on the face details with gel colors.

This was my first attempt at a whimsical cake, I always wanted to try it and thought my daughters 1st birthday would be the perfect oppertunity. I let my 3 year old daughter join in the fun and she got to decorated or color the secound tier in edible marker I thought this would be special for her to do for her little sisters birthday ...this cake was lots of fun! thank you to BKeith for the step by step instructions : )

I did this cake for my niece. The colors seemed a good choice for a little girls birthday, and the butterflies fell right in as well. I decorated with buttercream icing.

I made this cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday. I got the idea and instructions off Parents.com. It was 2 9x13 strawberry cakes stacked and covered with crusting buttercream icing. The shingles are Necco wafers, the door and windows are strawberry wafers and the flowers are Nerds. I wish I would've had more time for this one, because I wanted to make it great, but it was a VERY rushed job. Of course she loved it anyways!

I volunteered to make a cake for my daughter's bridging. I'm not too bright...I made a wedding cake for the day before. Anyway, this is half chocolate/half vanilla iced in buttercream, with fondant emblems, painted with luster dust and brown food color paste. By the time it came to write, my hands were shaking and it looks like it. Plus, the green basketweave isn't my best work. In my defense, I (again, not too bright) was decorating this in a travel container that had a pretty deep lip on it.

Made this for my cousin's 2nd birthday. Made with the sportsball pan. Was worried the whole time i was driving with it (all 50 miles) but it made it without rolling over. Did have a little bit of a problem with the had staying together. Tried to fix before guest arrived, but it didnt' want to stay... next time i will give it more time to dry and strengthen.

This cake is a mixture of different ideas I received from several CC members and their cakes. The top layer is white & the bottom layer is chocolate. Iced in pink BC. The flowers and the number "1" are made of fondant. The name is made of cookies. This was for some friends of ours who was having a large party for their daughter at our church. They were so happy with the cake. Thanks for looking!

This is marble cake with BC icing. The moon and stars are fondant. I got this idea from this website and changed it a bit. This is the first time I used fondant outside of the Wilton classes I took. I've always be intimitated by fondant, but found it was pretty easy to work with. Although, the shapes were very easy to do (not a lot of manipulation).

For my Granddaughter's first birthday. The little girl is made from the mini stand up bear pan, and the flowers and butterflies are from candy melts. We took the little girl off and that was her "Smash" cake.

I made this cake for my daughters first birthday. It was covered with MMF. I made this cake based on a cake made by Dailey (Crooked Fairy cake). I did the crooked thing for about one minute but I was too nervous that it wouldn't hold up so I changed it at the last minute and just stacked it.
