This was a chocolate cake with vanilla butter cream and covered in fondant. I made the butterflies out of fondant and used a plastic butterfly to make the impressions on the wings.

A Bratz cake I made for a little girls 5th birthday. It was my first attempt at a frozen buttercream transfer. I liked
the technique, I'll definately be using it again.

This was for a brother and sister who had a combined birthday party...I thought it turned out nicely. Ariel was easy to decorate, but I had to come up with some other design ideas to fill in for the Scooby side, hence all the swirls! They loved it and that is what matters!

This was the first cake *after* my 4-week Wilton course. I took the course specifically so I could do something special for my little girl's First Birthday! White cake, BC icing and decorations. The butterfly's color scheme mattches the napkins/plates I bought for the party.

12" rounds with 8" rounds iced in buttercream with fondant decorations...including candle. Cupcake topper is smash cake, made with large muffin tin and small bowl (so it's not ALL icing). Luster dusted 50/50 letter "B" for the birthday girl. Designed to match handmade invitation.

This is a 3-tiered castle cake, iced in buttercream, the small flowers are made from Wilton's fondant and Wilton's flower cut-out with yellow royal icing centers. The turrets, windows, door, and peak come from the new Wilton Castle kit. The tops of the turrets were covered in purple royal icing and sprinkled with sugar crystals. I didn't find that the turrets were easy to use. the cylinders were sealed at the bottom. It would have been easier to have them hollow.

Everything in this cake is edible. Cinderella's waist down is cake covered with fondant, while waist up is molded white chocolate hand painted with food coloring, and covered with fondant. Next time I won't choose chocolate for people's face anymore since it's so hard to let the food color to stay. Nevertheless, it's so much fun to make this one.

This is a 3 that I had to curve because I had no clue that Wilton stopped making all the numbers except the #1. I used a 14 inch round pan and printed a template of the 3, the size is 11.7 x 9.94.
The font I used was called snap. BC icing with fondant accents.

This cake was hand-cut into a #1 shape (Wilton now makes a #1 shaped pan) and the polka dots, which go with the invitations, are Necco candies.

This cake and the Polly Pocket cake are going out together to twin girls. This girl also brought in her own toys from home. So cute, she actually had the birthday set on top. The bottom three her mom bought so I added them. Inspired by a two tier pet shop cake by Michelle my Belle ( I think) on here. This cake is German Chocolate with Danish Cream cheese filling. Buttercream with fondant bow and flowers. My very first try making the little fondant roses Lorraine McKay's way. (Great video tutorial)

10" and 6" iced in buttercream with MMF stripes and rainbow for my niece's 2nd birthday. I had polka dots to put on it too but I wasn't sure if it would make it too busy...but looking at it now, I think it looks too plain. Oh well. Thanks for looking.

I had so much fun doing this cake! The mother emailed a picture of a cake she found on the internet and asked me to make the EXACT cake. The cake is iced in buttercream. Stars and number are fondant. Characters are royal icing. I got a barney coloring page from my nephew's coloring book (sorry Hunter!) and made copies to shrink them to size. Then I just laid a piece of wax paper over them and "colored" them with royal icing. Once they dried, I popped them off and stood them on the cake.

I loved doing this cake! This was for a litlle girl's first birthday and all the mother told me was that her daughter liked dogs! My first thought was a pink poodle so that's what I went with. I found a similar cake here at CC and got my inspiration from that. The mother LOVED this cake!

Like everyone else, I got this idea from Martha Stewart...To be honest It's not all cake, I couldn't figure out how to bake the cake using the pans I had-so I used rice krispies! cut the hole for the barbie and covered it with white almond bark. it is set on a sheet cake that I decorated to look like the barbie poster in my daughters room.

This is the cake I've made for my daughter's 4th b-day. It's a Hannah Montana cake and it's in two sections. The front of the cake is Hannah and Lola on a stage. It's white modeling chocolate covering that side and painted with a gold luster. The stage is 2 rice crispy treats covered in white choc. tinted with black gel. There are close-up pictures of the figures in my photos under my profile. TFL
