That was one of the 3 cakes we made for Christmas at the Cake Decorating course, term 4. It took us whole term to make the one with the 250 flowers and only one lesson to make this and the other one coming. They were 6" & 8" fruit cakes.

I also made these apple cookies to give to the teachers. They are made out of Cream Cheese sugar cookie mix and decorated with Wilton Royal Icing. I wrapped individual cookies in cellophane and a bow and gave them to my son's teachers.

Did this for a friend... cakes are homemade pound cake filled with a white chocolate/cool whip and fresh fruit (might be too soft though...?) and iced with a whipped buttercream recipe I got from work. Flowers are done in royal. I wanted it to look yummy as well as pretty, so it is kinda simple but I thought they'd like it.

Fondant covered cakes. Marzipan vines & leaves. Each fruit was hand made from coconut macaroons covered with a thin "skin" of marzipan. Painted each pear & orange with thinned out paste colors. Topped with a whole clove "stem". The design was based on a cake of Gady's as featured in the JC Penney's recent bridal campaign. The reception site was decorated with real pears & oranges, so it all tied in nicely to the whole theme.

I was asked to make chocolate dipped strawberries for the anniversary of a friend. I thought it would be cute to make a matching cake. I had a really hard time with the buttercream fondant (it is way too soft), so I ended up having to patch it in quite a few spots. The cake itself is half strawberry and half chocolate. I really hope they enjoyed it ^_^

The cake is a simple butter cream icing with piped dots on sides and a dotted border. The sugared seasonal fruit and daisies fit the setting at tje grooms parents house on a rolling green lawn on Lake Champlain in August. The mothers of the bride and groom ordered the cake in arranging the wedding for their out-of-town children. I got a beautiful thank you from them. Sugared fruits are one of my favorites, they look so beautiful!

People go crazy for these fruit cookies. I guess they try to fool themselves that they are eating "healthy". After all, they are fruit.

Here's the molded fruits and veggies I promised to upload that my SIL done for me. I'm truly blessed to have a SIL like her, not only can I count on her with her new found abilities, but I'm blessed because it was she who introduced me to her brother whom I married and remain beyond happy. She done a wonderful job, didn't she? I was just amazed and very thankful to her.

This cake was decorated during a power blackout. Since it was too dark to color icings to make decorations, I used various fruit snacks and assorted colored Tootsie Rolls to make the burger toppings. The bun cakes were covered in rolled fondant and airbrushed. The burger was a big, fat fudge brownie.

Here is one reason why I dont fall asleep right away at night! lol
This was a concept cake that i checked online and havent seen it done the way I wanted it done.
The cake itself is banana, then it has strawberry and pineapple filling (done in small areas like a bullseye) The top has chopped nuts, whip cream *melting due to the heat* and chocolate with more strawberry, raspberry and pineapple. The frosting is strictly vanillia. It came out pretty good but next time it'll be a round cake.

This cake is for my daughter's 2nd birthday. I asked her what kind of cake she wanted, and her reply (practically the only word she uses) was "pizza!" It's a 12" round, with BC tinted for sauce, grated white chocolate cheese, and fruits cut for the veggies. Was a huge hit. Even had a "table" for the center!!

This cake was for Mothers Day. Saw the idea in a magazine and altered the look of it.I used a vanilla cake mix and added watermelon Jello for a subtle taste of watermelon. Green and pink icing and brown M&M's for the seeds. It tasted great.

I used a picture I saw in an old issue of Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine for inspiration. I tried this unique basketweave design using a large leaf tip for the first time. I think it came out great! Fresh fruit covered the top of each layer and really presented well for this late summer wedding. TIP: wash and dry the fruit THOROUGHLY before placing on the cake. I did this and still had some slight juice run off. So be careful. But it was worth it!

Idea from fytar's cake. Groom did not like BC-wanted canned icing. I did NOT like using this type of icing! This was my first attempt at tiers, too. I learned alot on this one.

This cake was inspired by my sister, who loves watermelon. I used it as a birthday cake but I think it would make a great 4th of July cake (something differernt from the usual American flag). The cake was strawberry, in four layers (2 round cakes split) with a dabb of strawberry icing, strawberry icing on top and outling the bottom, vanilla icing with green food coloring on the outside for the rind and chocolate chips were set at the top to play the "seeds".

I so copied this from another picture but I couldn't resist!! As I was decorating it the "light and fluffy" affect took over and I put the Whipped Frosting on with a spatula.
