White whipped icing on 7, 9, 10 in rounds. I thought I would be able to get away with the 10 in., instead of an 11 in., but as you can see in the picture, it didn't look quite right.

This was a cake I did for my college course, I had to use pastillage and marzipan so the basket is out of pastillage and the fruit is out of marzipan.

Louiza wanted something different, yet with a strong element of traditional; we decided on this striking flower option, which involved creating our own mould for the petals...fun! four tier stacked fruit with top sponge option

I got the idea for this Mother's Day cake off of this site. Super simple to do. The bow is real. I used Pepperidge Farm Pirouette cookies for the side. It is an angel food cake. I also found out that you should NOT ice an angel food cake with anything other than whipped topping type icing. LOL.

I loved making all the little fruit even thought it took forever. All the fruit is made from MMF and the cake it also covered in MMF. The cake isn't really cake at all The bottom layer is a huge 15 lbs cheesecake and the top layer is a carmal pecan crunch cake. The bride bought then from her favorite restuarant and I decorated them.

My father's favorite cake is strawberry shortcake but I couldn't find a recipe that I liked. So my brother and I used a doctored french vanilla cake mix, fresh whipped cream and mixed fresk strawberries with sugar and lemon juice for the filling. It was delicious!! He said it was the best he ever tasted!!

This is a lemon butter cake with buttercream frosting and candied lemon slices. I have some obvious issues with buttercream but I've come a long way since finding CC. This is the first cake I've made since I joined this forum.

This is my first attempt at blown sugar done at Bonnie Gordon Cakes. Well, it's actually my 3rd attempt as I blew out the first two. It should be spherical however I dinged it so made it into an apple instead.

Choc. Cake, choc frosting, fruit and white choc. bark butterflies. I found a pretty butterfly on a greeting card and followed the outline. Love the way they turned out and my friend was pleased. I look at EVERYTHING from cards to clothes, etc. and get ideas and think, "hmmmm, that would look good on a cake!"

This is an 8" yellow cake with white chocolate pudding filling. Then I iced it in buttercream. The outside is covered in pirouette cookies the French Vanilla. The top is chocolate and white chocolate dipped strawberries.
I wanted to do something other than the typical graduation cake for my son's H.S. Graduation. He loves strawberries and vanilla. Everyone really liked the cake.
I did put a ribbon type banner in the middle which isn't shown in the photo.

A simple cake for an eight year-old boy's Communion. It is a fruit cake covered in mazipan (almond paste) then fondant icing. The shapes were done with stencils from clip art and the lettering with cutters. This was my second cake and I found the lettering tedious because I had to roll the icing very thin (I think practicing royal icing may be the way to go). The wetness is from the glue which hadn't dried up by the time I took the picture.
