I got the inspiration for this cake from a petit four on the Cake Girl's website. I love their cakes! It's covered in mmf with mmf decorations.

This was done in larger than normal petit fours, stacked up into a pyramid. The icing I chose was done in a layer of poured fondant and then a covering layer of ganache, made of just heavy cream and candy melts. Football and "T" are also cake covered the same way.

My very first Petit Fours. I used the poured fondant method. Tricky. My next ones (tomorrow) will turn out better. Still these are pretty cute.

This is done with a Deco-Pac Kit. I copied their picture like I'm suppose to only I don't have an airbrush which is how the grocery stores do it. It looks better this way.

My third attempt at poured fondant petit fours! I am determined to keep doing these until I get them perfect, tough little buggers! These are dark chocolate enhanced with raspberry fill and ohhh so yummy! I though I would drop them of at the school's teacher's lounge tomorrow morning. They are just little yummy practice tidbits.

This is my first large tiered cake. It's all buttercream. I made this for my grandmothers 80th birthday but it seemed to fit the weeding category best.

red velvet, vanilla, next two were chocolate. All iced in buttercream, and the leaves were gumpaste, lightly dusted in gold luster dust. I really wanted to go the actual wedding so I iced the layers last night at home and assembled at the hall (horror story - they were NOT very helpful or nice) and low and behold my icing cracked -getting very frustrated!!! I will ice on sight from now on... thanks for looking!

This is a cake that I made for my 4 year olds birthday. He is a mad Cars fan, but I was looking for something simple. This was super simple and he absolutely loved it! I went with green icing only because it's my sons favourite colour. Sorry - should have cleaned the bench before I took the photo!

This is the birthday cake I made for my son's 4th birthday. Brennan is such a Fantastic 4 fan and I wanted to make this extra special for him. This was my first time using MMF to make the letters to spell his name as well as using MMF for the number 4 on top. MMF plaques aren't edible since I don't have edible ink. They are photo paper on MMF. Melted chocolate on the bottom layer to make it look like The Thing. Top layer and the number 4 piped with BC to look like flames for Johnny, the Human Torch.

This was my very first experience with Petit Fours/Mini Cakes. Thanks so much to helipops for the inspiration! Total of 70 mini cakes-1/2 Choc. Fudge with Cream Cheese filling and 1/2 White Choc. with White Choc. Mousse. My dad made this stand for me. We replicated the design from bossmanufacturing.com and made it for A LOT less! The closest I could get to the Silver Surfer considering I'd never seen the movie. I had some trouble with the facial features & neck, particularly the seaming, but the client seemed happy. I know it's not my best work but I tried.

This was an order for a lady that wanted petit fours with a fall colored theme. This is what I came up with. This was my first time ever doing petit fours so I was very impressed with the way they came out.

...with a woodlands theme. I forgot my camera so this picture was graciously given to me... can still see the cake plate spikes of the top tier as the cake layer hadn't settled onto the third layer yet. Oh well. Bottom tier is chocolate with chocolate mousse filling, next up is yellow with lemon mousse filling, third is hummingbird with white chocolate mousse filling and the top tier is spice with cream cheese filling, all covered in fondant with buttercream ferns applied, gumpaste accents

I decided on a whim my shop needed some of these today. I want to get to where I have all kinds of little goodies for sale all the time. This is the new smaller size petit fours I will be making. (okay...because I got 500 little petit four cups for $4.98, I was like...wha??? I'm making them that size from now on!) I know these aren't perfect but they were fast!

Snowflakes piped on freehand with tip #1 in buttercream. Glaze is basically an all butter buttercream (no shortening) thinned with water and melted on the stove over low heat.

Done for a military Christmas party. cakes are 2" square, covered in BC and fondant. Parachutes are styrofoam balls covered in gumpaste, with 18 guage wire wrapped in tape. The Riggers loved them! And probably the hardest work I have done so far.

My first attempt at Petit Fours. They came out ok ....I guess. Not thrilled about them. Any idea how to get the icing to not be so transparent and not so sweet? Any suggestion would be great!! TFL!
