This was a 3 layer chocolate fudge cake with cookies and cream filling and buttercream dream frosting. I think I may have done too much on it. I was going to leave it just simply frosted with the four on it but I had too much icing to leave it at that. I mixed the icing and used a petal tip to get the striped effect on the sides. It was fun and was really easy to do.

This is a full-top FBCT. The line border and wording were also a part of the FBCT but I decided to go over them with a #3 tip after the FBCT was on the cake.

Only 5 of 250 petit fours with a monogram for a gentlemans 80th birthday celebration. The family wanted only finger desserts so I did these and creme puffs. Thanks to my mom and sister for helping me assemble and package these. This was my biggest order so far!! Thanks for looking!! Oh yes - there were much prettier petit fours in the order than these, but these were the last ones to go in and I almost forgot to take a picture!!

This is a frozen buttercream transfer that took forever. It's a 1/2 sheet cake, so the transfer sheet was over 11 inches tall. I'm happy with how it turned out, I just wish I charged more for it :) I think the kid will love it! Definitely an original cake!

This cake was for my boss's 52th B-Day. He didn't like the black bow, but it was part of the over the hill theme. This is a 2 layer 10" cake, vanilla bottom, devil's food top, with nutella BC filling and frosting.

Not much to tell about this one - Earlenes quilted side design with gold dragees.
Silk roses to separate - It was displayed on top of a fountain/wilton stand at the reception.

I made this cake for my Course 4, Fondant and Gum Paste, lesson 1 cake 1. What really mattered is not how it looked but that a few of my friends, Margaret, Pat and Rachel came to cake class to enjoy it with Jessica and I. And since I am her best student, she allowed it. (Did I mention I am her only student- but still the best!). It was spice cake with cream cheese icing and Satin Ice Fondant which I find to be delicious! I am looking forward to smooth fondant days ahead. This cake was 2 layers 6" pans.

This is the cake I made as my final piece for Course 2. I was so proud of myself I could burst! I can't believe I learned so much in such a short time! Barb Post was a great teacher and I really enjoyed her company too. The thing I learned from this cake is to really pay attention to the colors you are using so the cake isn't so @CRAZY@ at the end. I wish my pinks were more toned down. I learned icing picks up even more color as the day goes on. Oh well. The firehouse devoured it! Thanks for looking!

This was the first cake I completed in my Wilton classes. I was so proud at the time at how smooth my icing was. It's funny how much I notice how not smooth it is now. But that is all part of learning. I felt so decadent tinting that many colors of icing at the time too- what a hoot! I am so glad I took these classes.

This is the cake I created for my Course 3 Lesson 4 final cake. I was glad it said I could bring buttercream or a fondant covered cake since fondant is so expensive for a cake this size. The bottom tier is 10" and the top 6". I took this cake to a local foster home that houses 12 children and they were so excited to have a cake for no reason. They asked me to provide birthday cakes to the kids for the next year! I can't wait! I wish the tie dye was more pronounced but next time I'll do better.

This is my first attempt at Lisa Mae's georgous pea pods. I had a really hard time covering the petit fours with faux fondant. I used the recipe off this site. I could not get the sides of the petit fours to be covered. Any advice on how to get the faux fondant to pour down the sides evenly? I've only made a few cakes in my entire life so I have a lot to learn and I welcome any and all words of wisdom!!!! Thanks so much!

Another petit four cake -- for the same customer!! She just loves petit fours! This color of purple is really pretty in the pf icing and the white daisies really add to the cake I thought! I've got another order for one for her this weekend too! Thanks for looking and I appreciate all comments and suggestions!

This is the cake I made for my Wilton Fondant and Gumpaste final cake. It was a 10" pan with 1 box mix in it. I wet a paper towel with vanilla & brushed a little brown and a little copper on the towel to rub the crust for that fresh baked look. The cheese on the top is grated white chocolate, the sauce is Wilton red in the tube & everything else is fondant! My husband took this to work and they devoured it! I was so excited- it was so cute! I am so proud of me!

First time fondant cake and first time stacked cake for me! A few flaws but I am pleased with it....took only 7 hours to do, not including the roses I made earlier in the week! The roses are the "hershey kiss" roses. The bride is adding her own topper.

Her mom wanted it to be like Cinderella, brought me a picture of the cake she wanted. Last minute, her daughter wanted candles. We didn't want to catch the ribbon on fire, so I made 16 little petit fours. I made little staircases out of foam sheets and covered them with fabric. Cakes are iced in BC, WASC 12" and 9", and top is orange 6", as well as the petit fours. Gumpaste roses too.

My first order of petit fours. Some are genoise and some are vanilla buttermilk cake. All have strawberry jam filling. Covered with my own version of poured fondant (butter and whipping cream added for better taste!). They were a little tough to get right, but once I got into a rhythm, it went pretty quickly.
