Lemon cake with vanilla bean buttercream filling
Vanilla cake with lemon zest buttercream filling

I made this cake for two very good friends for their engagement party. The fondant panels are imprinted with words and phrases of love. By far the best cake I've done thus far in taste and design.

The cake was made up of marble with fudge filling, Vanilla, with strawberry mousse, Chocolate fudge with cookies & cream. There was 3-6 r', 3 8' sq., 1-12' r. The fountain is the second one I bought the first did not work, then there was the error in plates & pillars sent, so I had to go to a cake supply house to pick up everything needed. This was alot of extra run around work, and I did not get the color swatches until 3 days before the wedding. Can I cry now. TFL

This cake was made for our friends at Sapporo’s for Chinese New Year. The tiger on the front side of the cake was stenciled onto a medallion of gum paste/fondant. All 3-D figures are made of gum paste/fondant and the water is tinted piping gel.

I'm glad this was a cake for family. I had the worst luck with this cake. I practically had to reice and redecorate the whole thing once I got to the reception hall. It was a hot day and the cake must have been really moist, because the icing just slid off. Even after all that, I was happy that it didn't look like the total disaster I was sure it was going to be.

The bride had a silver brooch, glasses and cake knife all with pearl motif and bows. Pearls were added to the quilting on the cake and the center tier has Always and Forever to match the inscription on the cake knife. All done in ivory bc.

Three round layer cakes with fountain, Cakes were White w/lemon filling, Chocolate w/vanilla filling and carrot cake with cream cheese filling. The topper was the original topper from the wedding cake 50 years prior. Completely done with Buttercream frosting. Each cupcake has a large flower on top and actually they went before I had the chance to cut and serve the cake.

This is my wedding cake. I couldn't find someone in town to make my wedding cake so I signed up for some Wilton classes offered at our local Hobby Lobby. My mom helped with the black drop string border, but I did the rest. One of my friends came up to me during my reception and asked, "Who did your cake?" I told her I did and she told me that I was hired to make her cake for her wedding the following summer. And that's how I got into making cakes.

Now I know how some of you feel about fountains and cakes, but we get a lot of requests around here. This is a three tier red velvet cake which is 6", 8" and 10" with Kahlua Whipped Buttercream filling and white buttercream icing. It is decorated with two different color purple silk roses. The groom's cake is there in this picture and is in my other photos.

I tried Duff fondant for the 1st time for ribbon and acrylic stamp them. Impressed with the product. First time BC stenciling. Flowers made of fondant. It was hard working in red. Made the cake topper. This was for a bride who had someone bail out getting her wedding cake at the last minute, my dear sister Helen and her daughter called me to do the cake for them so that this would be a wedding present to the bride. They told me to do what ever I wanted. So today she was surprised with cake. Helen and Alicia are simply the best.
