This is the biggest cake I have done and I was so happy with it. :) I even got my string work to work on it.(I struggle with string work) It is covered in fondant with silk flowers.

This cake was for very good friends of ours. They are like our kids. Out of all my wedding cakes I think this is my new favorite :-)

6/8/12, iced in all BC. Cake is sitting on a fountain stand .. but no fountain. Couple opted for florals under the stand. Middle tier iced in choc with gold dragees. The diamond quilting was done freehand with a skewer (that I had to dip in cocoa to prevent sticking). Scrolls on top tier were also done freehand. Bride's aunt made the silk florals. (Long shot showing the fntn stand is on my Flickr site.)

pic 1 of 2: This is a duplicate of my original Autumn Pearls except we swapped out the orange (fall) flowers for red roses, and set this one on top of a fountain. 8/10/12 cakes. The lighting was really bad at the hotel. See 2nd pic of just the 2 tiers for another great look.

Dramatic cake of four round alternating layers of homemade white and chocolate cake. Fountain sits on a square dummy cake. All layers covered in SatinIce black fondant and edged in "pearl" strands. Approximately 4 dozen red roses cascade down the cake, with the fountain base using lilies and greenery.

This cake is definitely not "in style" right now, but brides like more than is in the current magazines. Also, I wanted to share the story of my "close call". This cake almost didn't make it to the reception because the bride wrote down the wrong date! We called for directions for the next day's delivery and were told that the wedding was taking place that minute!! We had to load up, deliver, set up, and arrange the flowers in half an hour! Guests were arriving as I was placing the last flower!

This is a wedding cake that I made for a friend a few years ago. After I agreed to make this wedding my in-law's decided to come for a visit while I was decorating this! I was so nervous that something was going to go wrong. A couple of these smaller layers were styrofoam because she really didn't need that much cake. She was pleased!

My first ever wedding cake. I waited in the hot sun for hours for the banquet hall to open... the bride & groom showed up and the hall was never opened. Had to go set up at the grooms house...

This is my favorite wedding cake project. The bottom consists of seven round 6" two layer cakes...I used an 8" styrofoam form in the middle and surrounded it with the 6" round cakes. The top layer is a 12" two layer round. All cakes are covered in champagne colored fondant. The roses and drapes are made from fondant and there are buttercream accents. We tinted the water in the fountain a soft orange color to go with the wedding theme.

Gumpaste Gerber daisies and wafer paper butterflies decorate these 3 buttercreamed tiers. The stripes on the bottom tier were meant represent a fence. It is sooooooooo hard to put these stacked cakes on top of that over-the-fountain set-up! :(

This is the biggest cake I've ever done. Half was vanilla pound cake, the other half was chocolate pound cake. All icing is buttercream and flowers are silk. I generally think fountains are outdated, but I liked the look of this cake.

I haven't done ANY cakes for the past year and 5 months due to 3 major & 3 minor surgeries, and I sure have missed doing them. I'm not totally recovered to be back at it, but this was for my Nephew's wedding. I couldn't have someone else do his wedding cake now could I?
