This was inspired by all the great jersey cakes here. This is my first one and I enjoyed doing it. All buttercream except for the jersey. The jersey was painted using wilton's green paste and gold luster dust. My first time painting too, boy do you need a steady hand, lol.

My first attempt at a football. It was just OK. I used the wilton football pan, but I really was not satisfied with the shape. I think I could have just carved it out myself with oval pans. My newphew loved it anyway (and that's what counts). The cake was covered with chocolate buttercream, the accents were MMF, and the grass was done with royal icing.

I used the football pan and fondant. The grass is buttercream with the grass tip. The pole is plastic dowels covered in fondant - which made it heavy so it didn't stand up too well.

This is a practice cake i did this weekend. I recently got my very first cake order for a birthday cake for a woman's husband who is a Chicago Bears fan and I wanted to see if I could do a football helmet cake that I could offer to her as a cake choice. This cake is funny because it is a hodgepodge of different cake batters that I had frozen. The globe top of the cake if banana chocolate chipe, middle is vanilla and bottom is devil's food.

This might seem strange...but this is my daughter's first birthday cake. Football field with Colts horseshoe on top. Her smash cake was half of the sports ball cake cut into the shape of a football. We went with the Colts theme because we were at a Colts game when I went into labor with her.

I made this cake for my nephew's birthday. He plays football for the youth organization in town. The helmet is a the small ball cake in chocolate with chocolate rolled buttercream icing and the face guard is wire covered with fondant. The sheet cake is white cake with buttercream icing and the jersey is made of fondant. The "Chiefs" emblem was a frozen buttercream transfer. That was very cool. He loved the cake.

Fondant covered wonder mold. I used tapered fondant logs to give the dress shape. The front is ruffled BC and the top of the dress is fondant. I used the spray blue for the dress color. The football field was sprayed green with pulled grass.

This is a huge cake made up of about 8 extended recipies. The football is full size using the football cake twice and joined with BC. The entire field is about 1/12 X 3 feet and is covered with pulled grass. It was so big and heavy that delivery was difficult!

I made this cake for my brothers 22nd birthday. The baseball and football are made out of rice crispy treats and fondant. The whole cake is buttercream. Everyone thought the white part was marshmallows, but nope. I used tip 12 and white buttercream. I wish i could make cakes like this in fondant but my family HATES fondant. I got the idea for this cake from the Wilton Yearbook 2007. It was a really fun spongebob cake.

A birthday cake that was made for a girlfriend who is a fan of the Hawthorn Hawks (an Australian rules football team) The cake is caramel mud cake with a boubon butter cream icing. The hawk is what the team has on their football jumpers ( a hawk swooping down with a football in its talons), and this was made from chocolate, and I had to work quickly while it was warm using a pattern on grease proof paper and a scalpel.

The football team gave a shower for the football coaches who were going to be dads soon. They asked me to do a cake that included the school colors and wouldn't be too girly for the guys but would celebrate the new baby girls. I hope I achieved what they wanted. This is my first attempt at chocolate transfers and I loved it! The cake is a doctored DH Coconut Supreme with BC icing.

I had to make a cake for a local high school's annual football dinner. It was supposed to be for 300 people. (Turned out to be much less!) I made 4 half sheet cakes and put them together with the Wilton football cake in the middle. It was frosted with buttercream (the special tip that makes grass and hair, forget the #) and the team's mascot was royal icing floodwork. The numbers were also floodwork. It was vanilla cake with coffee buttercream.

I made this for my hubby's b-day. He's a HUGE Michigan football fan. The helmet is a carved out sports ball pan iced in BC with MMF accents. The sheet is iced in pastry pride with BC and MMF accents and the block M is a FBCT. The cake recipe I used was the durable cake for 3d and wedding cakes. Great recipe! I will use it again.

I made 4 dozen of these for a local team that made the playoffs. They won their first game...I think it was because of the cookies. :) They are NFSC with Antionia RI.

This cake is for a "tailgate" themed birthday party today (MSU vs. Purdue).
It is for 2 5 year olds (boy and girl). They wanted to add some cheerleaders to make it a little bit more feminine for the girl. The cheerleaders, team logos and football player are CT's. It was my first time doing a sheetcake and i had some trouble with the square corners. I had to make more cheerleaders this morning to cover up my imperfections by the corners! I need some more practice, but this was a fun cake.
