This was for a party where the main food was a low country boil. I was very happy with how it turned out, and so were the people who bought it. It is 2, 2-layer 8 inch round cakes with buttercream and MMF. all the figures are MMF and the corn had RKT centers. Thanks to every person on CC who has posted a Low Country Boil cake! They were all a great inspiration for this cake! TFL

Buttercream with fondant polka dots and fondant figure. The plaque was made out of gumpaste. I used the roses to cover the fact that my girl has no girly figure! In fact, it was quite the opposite!! TFL!

A bride and groom cake topper made out of fondant. Her dress was copied from a picture and I used little sugar balls and put each one on with tweezers then painted over them with white luster dust. I copied her hair clip and used silver sugar balls and silver luster dust. Man that was hard (it was so tiny)

A fondant covered 2 tier cake. The pink bands arounf each tier and the #8 are covered in pink edible glitter. The little girl was modeled after the birthday girl. The party was a pink and black skull and crossbones party hence the picture on the tee shirt. I even got shoelaces on the shoes, gotta love the details!

This is my second attempt at fondant figures. I decided to make Alice in Wonderland for my mom's 75th birthday since she loved the movie so much. I made more figures than would fit on the cake but I was having so much fun I couldn't stop at one. I still need more practice with putting fondant on my cakes and the final presentation. I love this website I learn so much from all of you and from each cake I create!

Pokemon birthday cake for my son's 7th birthday! Swiss meringue buttercream with fondant accents and figures. A big thank you to Maria (cheekysweets) for graciously letting me use her wonderful cake as my primary inspiration. Another big thank you to Alana Hodgson for helping me figure out the big pokeball and to Carolyn (carolyn1849) for her tips on doing the letters!

My client loved the Pink Cake Box's "Pregnant Lady" cakes, so that was my inspiration for this cake...just with a little twist! It was 5 and 8 inch rounds- vanilla bean cake with fresh strawberry preserve filling and lavender (color) vanilla buttercream. All details are MMF including the mommy. Wanted to make it a little different, so I put her on the side, rather than the top. My client was head over heels for it, so I guess I did my job! :) It was my first time making a person, and I was very pleased with how she turned out! Thanks for peeking!

Grad cake I made for my son's 8th grade graduation. Fondant/gumpaste figure. RKT and cardboard cap covered in fondant. I tried to cover the book with candy clay but it was too soft so I mixed in some fondant. Diploma is rolled up gumpaste.

This is a birthday cake I made for a 74 years old woman who is losing her memory. The bottom tier represents the Rocky Mountains where she grew up. The middle tier represents her graduating from Stanford University and working at the Childrens Hospital in D.C. And the top tier is her when she played baseball in the 40's & 50's.

This is a 3 tier chocolate cake with whipped chocolate ganache filling, and buttercream icing. Hand made fondant flowers (about 200 small ones, 4 large and 10 medium with buds) and a figure of bride were added to decorate the cake. This was my first tiered cake - not something I'll probably do again. Found it too difficult to transport and to assemble in a way that I was confident it wouldn't topple over. Ended up putting it on an MDF board, and putting a large dowel up the middle to support it - so it worked out in the end but I had to hold it in my lap to transport - very nerve racking...

First fondant-only figurine. Buttercream icining on a two-layer white cake. The dot border around the words in the middle of the cake was an attempt at being "whimsically crooked"...which ended up looking 'icky-not-intentional-crooked'. Note to self: DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE! Heehee. Otherwise, I was happy with the outcome of this cake.

I have the pleasure of making my own baby shower cake so I made these toppers to go with it. I like the pregnant belly cakes but couldn't picture eating it after I made it (weird right). I'm not sure what the end result will be but I will post pictures when done. Comments or suggestions welcome. TFL!
