Just quick little cookies for a pool party. My icing kept pitting, not sure what was going on. I like that these aren't entirely icing covered because that's a whole lotta sugar for munchkins right about bedtime!

This was for a friend's surprise birthday party - chocolate cake with raspberry filling and buttercream icing, yum! Flower accents are fondant cutouts, straps are "Twistables" (like fruit rollups), sand is nilla wafers. Big flowers are silk.

I copied this from another picture on this website, but changed the colors. I am donating this cake for a cake walk for breast cancer fundraiser. I used a 9x13 pan and used my own flip flops as a pattern. The sand is graham crackers and I added iridescent edible sprinkles as an added touch.

I wanted to try a flip flop cake. It's pathetic. My fondant straps didn't match the blue in the flip flop so I had to ice the fondant. Blue is way too dark. I should've used a contrasing color instead of doing it all blue. I'll do better next time. Thanks to BJ for answering my questions. OH forgot to say it's a red velvet cake w/cream cheese frosting.

Red Velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and MMF. Twizzler straps and uh oh oreo sand. I had to bake these 3 times before the cake finally turned out!! No more red velvet for me, I don't even like the taste.

I made these cakes for my mother-in-law for her 60th birthday party. I used MMF and flavored it with lemon flavoring. I only wish I had made the straps a few days early so they wouldn't fall.

She wanted Bright Colors, so the Cake is covered in PINK, then trimmed in Bright Green, & Purple decorations. I cut a flip flop design from a piece of cardstock to make my pattern, then lightly pressed on the cake to make the imprint once the icing had crusted over. Then filled in with icing. Then to make the Straps for the flip flops, i used the Basket Weave Tip. I took a pointed object and traced out the words Old Navy on the Strap, then wrote old Navy with Icing on the bottom of the shoes.

This is a pic of a cake that has been on my camera since last summer, just now got around to getting that roll put on a disc. This cake was fun to do and a learning experience. I found out from the family that gel coloring tastes funny, if I do another cake like this I would probably just use blue frosting and not the gel.

This was my first attempt at MMF. Was lots of fun but had trouble with bubbles. Also didn't do to well with coverage and had to do some piecing together. This was for my 11 year old niece....She loved the cake! (Although was not to fond of the taste of the fondant)

This cake was french vanilla with a vanilla/almond icing. Bonnie's theme was Hawaiian and used the invitation as my inspiration for the cake. Wanted to do the flip flops in fondant but simply didn't have time. So I used buttercream for everything. Used a store-bought silk lei for the border.

This was a birthday cake for my 7 year old niece, she loved it, i got the idea from another pic from CC. These cakes were cut out by tracing a flip flop on paper then placing that on the cake, the icing is buttercream, the blue straps and dots are fondant, the sand is brown sugar.

This cake was for one of my own bridal showers. The theme was Hawaiian so I thought flip flops would be neat. (Especially since that is my preferred footwear!). This was my first time carving a cake and I think it turned out well. Lots of fun!!

This is a pair of flip flops I was asked to make. This is my third pair of flip flops I have made. I put these in the sand for something new. The straw is in the shoe to put a flower in. I will add that shortly before delivering it. I am charging for this cake. How much should I ask for this?
