I have seen tons of girly flip flop cakes, but wanted one that was appropriate for a boy. I used my sons sandals as a model for these chocolate flip flops. Chocolate icing, gumpaste and crushed graham cracker sand.

Sugar cookies cut out with foot cookie cutter. I "painted" the toenails before I baked them with the wilton icing colors and just watered the color down with water. The strap is fondant (made with the crayola playdoh maker) and the flower is fondant cut with the daisy cutter. These were so much fun to make!!

I made this cake for my staff at school on the last day. It was a half sheet cake cut into 2 flip flops. I used a template I made. I frosted it in buttercream and the decorations are made with MMF. Everyone loved it (and nobody wanted to cut it)

This cake was a paying job! 2 layer white-on-white buttermilk cake with bettercream and raspberry filling. The icing was from sugarshack and I used white chocolate raspberry creamer. I DID not get paid enough... I got $30. Since it was for a church group where I grew up... I let it slide. It is a very small town. Oh well!!

This cake was a going away party cake for a friend leaving to work on a cruise ship for an extended period of time. The beach is crushed vanilla sandwich cookies with the filling removed. The palms and other beach acessories are gumpaste and the boat is a little wooden toy.

The inspiration comes from Sugarfancy. Her cake is so much better but I enjoyed doing this cake. It is a 12 X 16 chocolate cake. The palm trees are pretzels and MMF. The flowers, beach towel and flip flops are MMF.

This was my first attempt a ta flip flop cake. i got the idea for the beeded straps from another cake on here. i decided it would add a little extra to it to use the letter beads to spell out the happy birthday :) i was upset with the icing because I COULD NOT GET IT SMOOTH! other than that i thought it turned out cute, and enjoyed making it. yellow cake with buttercream icing.

i made this cake for my cousin for her 21st birthday party. it's just a plain pound cake with pink tinted frosting and fondant straps. i was bummed though because the straps didn't have enough time to harden, so they softened up and fell. the flower is sugar.

Here is our take on the flip flop theme; it was for my niece, Charley, who was turning 3. We wanted it to be girlie, but definitely appealing to a little kid, so we made sure the critters all had cute eyes. It was a big hit at the party!

My not so successful attempt at a flip flop cake. I guess you could say it was a flop :( . Boy did I have trouble with these. The yellow "flip flops" are white cake with raspberry filling and buttercream. The brown "flip flops" are chocolate cake with peanutbutter buttercream filling and Wilton cocoa candy melts poured over the top.
