This was for a wedding shower where the couple are getting married on the beach. The sand is honey made crackers and the flip flops are rice crispie treats covered in fondant. I got the ideas from looking on here, thanks everyone!:)

2-layer 9x12. One is devil's food, the other is amaretto butter. Almond pudding filling. All BC. Flip-flops are MMF, sand is graham crackers, seas shells are candy melts. My DH said, "Well now you know how to carve a coffin at halloween." Trying to get it to look right when it was so tall was very hard. overall though I am pleased.

This was my first try at modeling a cake after flip flops. I think it turned out okay. It was a simple White cake with BC icing. No one ever orders any of my "fancier" flavors of cake or icing.

I made this cake for a few girls at work for their birthdays. The flip flops are made of Rice Krispie squares. A nod to Vicki614 for her design, which I basically copied. I added some seashell chocolates after, but didn't have my camera with me for that.

Inspired by all the flip flop pics on this site (faves include melysa, sarahscakes ,and foots2), here is my version. Thanks to melysa for the tips and to foots2 for the strap idea ( because my fondant kept breaking) If there are any questions...I am happy to answer them. This is a 2 layer chocolate with Spiced Rum flavored Bavarian cream filling. I used the "Not too sweet" icicing from the recipe section. I think that's it. LMK....Thanks!

Thanks, Melysa for the idea for these. I loved yours and did a quick version of them for my daughter's Brownie Girl Scout Troop's end of the year pool party today. I sort of waited until the last minute so I didn't get to do the little details and I also wanted to add "grass" icing to the board, but we got there an hour late!

I looked at all the flip flop cakes for this one!! Got some great help with my shells from a post by shipleyC and anoldhippy, Thanks! Each flip flop is cut from a 9x13, one white, one choc, with BC, MMF flowers, and straps. There is a texture in them but it is hard to see on the picture. Shells are WC and sand is crushed graham crackers. Thought they were a little plain but did them to match an invite! Customer was very happy and hopefully her 6 yr old DD will be too!

Beach ball, flip flops, and two beach pails all covered in fondant. I cooked the buckets on flower pots to get the shape and cut the flip flops out of a 6'" square. The sand is natural sugar.

A lady at church wanted a cake to send off her 4 & 5 year olds to their newest class for promotion Sunday so I did these flip flops. All BC with royal daisy and I cheated and used straps cut off of a pair of flip flops from the Dollar Store. (cleaned of course!) The sunglasses are from the Dollar Store, also. Thanks to Melysa for the inspiration and instructions!! Next time the shells will be different neon colors in keeping with the cake!

Made this for my daughter's 4th birthday. The flip flops are her show size, and she absolutely loves the beach. 11x15 yellow w/choc bc. Flip flops are cake covered in fondant. Fondant rocks, flowers, sandal straps, "boards" border, and hand molded sand dollar. I loved making this cake -- labor of love! Didn't intend to make the "fence-like" border, but thought it was great once I got started on it and really liked the final outcome.
