First off all I want to thank all of the great cake artists on this site from whom I copied alot of this design. The flags around the bottom of the first tier are the marine alphabet flags. They spell out "C-O-N-G-R-A-T-S". Either I'm just slow or it felt like it took forever for me to finish this cake.

This cake was yellow cake with chocolate & BC icing. This was made for my best friend when she & her family were moving from Texas back to California. This cake barely survived the heat at a picnic on a hot July day at the park!!!

SC State Flag done in Green and Yellow for someone who loves John Deere. The cake was not supposed to be covered in dots, but the icing cracked so this is what I came up with. I made this cake over a year ago and I have learned a lot since then because of CC!!

In celebration of my son earning TOP GUN (as in the movie, Top Gun, meaning 'the best of the best') in the Army, I made this double chocolate cake with chocolate and raspberry mousse. All fondant details. This is only my second fondant try. Thanks for looking. Congrats, Bill!

Butter cream with fondant accents and diecast toy and candle topper. The one thing I would do different is replace the red butter cream circles with red fondant squares.

I made this cake for my work. The bears are made out of fondant (my first time working with it). I used the betty crocker bake n fill pans, so the inside was different layers of white and chocolate cake. It was pretty cool.

I made this cake for my brother. He picked the cake out of one of the Wilton Yearbooks and we tried to make it as close as we could. It is iced in buttercream. This was also my first attempt at decorating cookies.

This was made for a soldier who was reenlisting. He was going to Hawaii (lucky!) so I made the Hawaiian wedding cake that is in the recipe section. Yummy! Iced in BC with fondant flag, rope, and dog tags.

I really wished I had more time to work on this cake. A friend asked me to make it for her boyfriend with only a few hours to do it. Her boyfriend is South African, now living in Australia. The rugby ball is choc mud cake, with BC. The flags are made from fondant.

A big thanks to Mac for helping me with the camo! It was fun & really easy to do!!
Just blob icing of each color on the cake w/ a spatula, then move the icing arond how you want the design. Let it crust then smooth w/ viva! I put too much of a blob so next time I'll use less. :-)

Not my favorite by far. This cake was a horror to make and somehow it was my idea when the customer asked for a sheet cake. Next time I'll do a sheet cake. This was for a girl who's graduating and joining the Army. Note: if you plan to make a cake like this dowel before icing. My top step started sliding off the back.

This cake was a birthday/anniversary of citizenship cake. The birthday boy has been in the country for 30 years (the day before his bday) so the cake has 30 gumpaste stars around the top. Red, white and blue basket weave (2nd time) and the flags are piping gel transfers

This cake was a beast for me. I iced it with yellow BC, then used black BC (which I tried to tint black, but looks gray) for the outlines after I laid down a piping gel transfer of the lion. The red is piping gel also.
