This is the second birthday cake I've made. My friends 7 year old little girl wanted an Under The Sea cake. Octopus, white chocolate & butterscotch chip shells, frosting coral.

A cake for a co-worker's son who turned 4. The fish are made out of rice krispie treats, but were very difficult to cover with the fondant and were quite bumpy.

My son and I designed the fish to look like the number 60. Some people saw it...others didn't! The mountain looks pretty bad but the tree came out ok.

Just finished FL ICES Mini Classes wit BKeith Ryder and this was the final project. We did this piece using Isomalt. We cast support pieces in Play-doh, blew the fish, made "bubble sugar" for coral cast seashells in silicone molds, and pulled seaweed and other decos. What fun! It won't make it home to Cleveland, so it's off to be given away.

Found this in a magazine and decided to make it for my son's 5th birthday. It went over so well, I ended up making a second one for his friend's birthday!

I got this idea from this web site. It was really easier than I thought. I used a cupcake and shaped it coming up and then iced it with two different greens to give it some depth. I also used a star tip to create the fins standing up.

The onlything not edible are the toothpicks for the cattails that my husband said looked like hotdogs, and 4 plastic fish. I used piping gel for the water and chocolate candy river rocks. My ducks need alot more practice. Oh and the trees and palm bushes are not edible. The sign is a chocolate bar.

Tiered square cake, with silk flowers and a real goldfish! This is my own wedding cake I made myself the nite before the wedding. I figured since i was a cake decorator, I had better do my own.

This idea was for a child's first birthday. The parents wanted the birthday boy to have his own cake to demolish! The fish was for him. I used an old egg shaped mold for the fish and most of the decorations were just buttercream. Just the fins were made out of fondant.

This is the 3rd cake, with this theme, I have made in the past month & this is my favourite. All modelling was done with sugarpaste (fondant) & his rod is made from dried spaghetti. The side design was done with Patchwork Cutters (yes I know I use them loads, but they're fantastic!)

As a family we all did decorated this cake. My 10 year old frosted it. My 6 year old decorated with the fruit roll ups and gold fish. He put the right amount of fish for Dad's age. Then I wrote the words around the fish. Someone smudged the words before I could take the picture but we are all still proud and happy we did it together.

I did this cake for a friend's little girl turning 2. The party is Elmo/Ooopsy the clown. Cake is white almond sour cream, icing faux fondant II. Dorothy, name sign, and Ooopsy are frozen buttercream transfers. Elmo is a cookie inspired by ChicosMom. He is 5 cookies iced in same icing as cake. Each cookie is on stick. The fish bowl idea is from Woman's Day magazine, I just adapted it to elmo (Nerds for rocks, fruit roll-up plants). Ooopsy is her little smash cake. Thanks for looking!

Made for a couple who met on a fishing trip, and still love to go fishing together. Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, gumpaste fish hand-painted with food colors, a $1.00 basket from Michaels that I stained with food colors, and a pennant flag with the words requested by the bride.

This was my first attempt at a multi-layer cake. The top layer was for my daughter and the bottom two layers were for the other guests. I used an actual fish in the bottom layer in a glass bowl.

Made for a guy who likes to fish salmon. I was inspired by a few photos in this gallery. (Thank you all for being soo talented). Carved from an 11x15 cut and stacked. My carving needs some practice. Lemon cake with lemon bc icing, mmf fins, eye & lettering. You can't see it, but there's a big hook in his mouth. I found the platter at a thrift shop for .50, covered it with foil for effect.

This cake was actually done for a baby shower where the couple did the nursery in tropical fish. The cake was inspired from one I found in a Wilton yearbook. Overall cake is BC but the fish bodies and the top fish are from Satin Ice. I'm still trying to get this whole sculpting down.
