This cake was made for a girls Luau paty. It is vanilla cake covered in BC. Decorations are done with crushed grahm crakers for sand, swedish fish (seahorses, starfish, puffer fish, green fish, red fish, & dolphins), real seashells, and drink umbrellas. Everyone loved this cake!

Made a 2 tier cake and a fish smash cake for my son's 1st birthday. I really wanted to pipe buttercream fish and put more decorations on the cake but it was difficult so I went ahead and used goldfish crackers. The BC was not clinging to the italian meringue buttercream frosting. The smash cake is a fish carved from the sports pans.

All Buttercream except for the cracker house, the pretzel tree trunks and the toothpick for the fishing pole in the boat. Modeled after a cake from the Wilton Yearbook and changed slightly to look like my brother's favorite vacation spot. The water is piping gel.

Decorations are chocolate and buttercream. The scales are vanilla wafers decorated with buttercream so the birthday girl could give "one shiny scale to each of her friends," so the story goes.

Another cake I made 11 years ago for a teacher at the school where I was student teaching. It goes with the orange one. They were for her husband's bd. I cut the fish from a half sheet I think. White cake with almond bc. These were long before I ever took any decorating classes. I was asked to do 4 cakes that weekend.

This goes with the blue fish. This was 11 years ago, long before I knew I'd be hooked by cake decorating. Glad I was taking pics back then. Oh, white cake cut from half sheet. BC icing.

A 14" round base with shells and waves around the sides. I don't think you can see them on this picture. Topped with a fish from the Wilton Fish Pan.

DD chose an ocean theme cake several years in a row. It's in the cake pan because we were taking it camping. The sea creatures, rocks and shells are creme savers candies, gummi worms, starburst formed into fish, goldfish crackers (gross!) and buttercream icing. I made a little treasure chest out of hersheys bars and frosting, but the picture isn't good. I've learned a lot from CC since then! But this was really fun for the kids to pick off their favorite candies. The dolphins are a magnet.

I can't take credit for this one. All I did was bake the cake. My husband & daughter's boyfriend did all the work on this cake. The cake is chocolate covered in fondx & air brushed. We cut the cake board oval, covered in mmf & used a wood grain impression mat then air brushed it to make it look like a plaque.

Cake iced in buttercream, outside lined with fondant, fondant and BC seaweed. Edible images of Nemo characters. I wish I had more time I would have backed all the characters with fondant like I did the pelican on top and made them more 3D, but it came out cute.

What a FUN cake and what a time crunch I had for this cake. The groom's cake is fondant with fish and boat. The cake and fish are hand-painted with Luster Dust. The bride's cake was all buttercream. Her wedding colors were purple. I used a cake topper and filed it in half to get the bride and groom. Everyone really loved it and the idea. I wish I had a chance to get better pictures.

This is my first attempt at a fish. Also, the first time I used an airbrush. Will take practice. I wasn't real happy with the texture but also will take practice!

I wanted this to be more realistic but I cut it larger so it would serve more (it was also a last minute--my husband told me yesterday afternoon he needed it my this morning). Next time I will make a smaller fish placed on a sheet cake. It was fun making it. I got my inspiration from cakes on this site. I glad everyone loves to share. I did not "paint" the luster dust on, it is just the powder brushed on. My husband bought a lure with fishing line attached to stick in the mouth.

This was just a fun cake to do! Four tiers...all buttercream icing and some fondant and gumpaste decorations (fish, marinelife, marine plants). The groom is a commercial fisherman and apparently does a lot of leisure fishing too!

This is my rendition of Godiva's "Fat Trout" which is her rendition of a Collette Peters cake. It was a ton of fun to do and is a groom's cake for a wedding this weekend. The cake is chocolate with chocolate-raspberry buttercream. I guess it's not too bad for my first carved and sculpted cake.

Made this for my nephew, his favorite fish is a tarpon, used the football pan for the shape and used cut outs for fins, fins are made of foam and just decorated with buttercream. Used picture of actual tarpon to match the colors.

I made this cake 4 year's ago for my dd best friend. She gave me the topper told me what she wanted and this is what she wanted, exactly! all star fish, most fish and rocks are all made from fondant. There are some gummy fish and rock candy tinted to look like coral and of course graham cracker crumb's for the bottom. We had fun with this one. This cake traveled 100 mile's in the back of Suv, and then they got a picture
