I made that cake for my daughter first birthday. I cut the bears of the birthday's invitation and I put its on the halfmoon. To make the baby bear I used a mouse pan. For the sides of the cakes I used a tip #18 and making up and down zig-zag covered all the sides.

I made this cake a week early by accident. Wasn't paying attention to the calendar. This is another cake for the outreach program our church participates in to help homeless families with kids who are having birthdays. I love doing these cakes! This one is for a little girl's first birthday. French vanilla cake, all BC.

This was done to match the theme of the birthday party - the mom supplied me with a paper plate. The base cake was 12 x 17 chocolate, topped with a yellow cake baked in a one shaped pan, bc icing, mmf accents. The hand prints were made with a rubber stamper I got in the scrapbook isle.

This was a rush job. I sort of ran out of time - don't ask. Thankfully I had already tracked down the plastic figures from my son's 3rd birthday (he'll be ten this Dec.!) a few days earlier (I was going to use them as guides to make figures out of MMF). The bottom cake is peanut butter with chocolate bavarian cream filling; the center cake is banana (I forgot to add filling!), and the chair is carrot cake. The blue and green are MMF - the very first time I've ever made it and worked with it.

This is a 1/2 sheet, chocolate/vanilla with strawberry filling.
I made this for my grandson's first birthday who loves to dance to the song "Move It" in the madagascar movie.
I drew the picture on with a frosting sheet, then filled it in with gels. I had a blast making this!

This was my first attempt at cake decorating. I used the sports ball cake pan for each of the sections, using a double cake for the head. The antennae were tricky. I stuck toothpicks in the head and piped thick frosting over them. Then I froze the curly tops and stuck those into the tops of the toothpicks. It was a great hit for my daughters first birthday!

This might seem strange...but this is my daughter's first birthday cake. Football field with Colts horseshoe on top. Her smash cake was half of the sports ball cake cut into the shape of a football. We went with the Colts theme because we were at a Colts game when I went into labor with her.

Idea totally replicated from Sharon's Sugar Shack (she's amazing)! My client loved her cake, and wanted the same one, but "bigger". 9" and 6" round white w/ fondant. Fondant boats and sails.

I made this for my son's first birthday after getting the idea off of another site. I used the sports ball pan to make the cakes and simply decorated it using the basic "star" method. The colors were all very bright, so I made them a day ahead of time to let the color develop. I'm happy with the way it turned out even though I forgot to add the feet! Doh!

Inspired by boonenati's JJ cake here on CC. White cake with buttercream fill and crumb coat. Covered in Fondant. Smash cake was fondant too. (not a good idea..didn't make the really good mess that everyone wants to see and couldn't get into it...resorted to the older sister taking bites right out of the side of it :) My first stacked cake - i was shaking like a leaf afraid it was going to collapse!

I made this cake for my daughter's very 1st birthday!!! It took no time at all and I think most of the time was spent baking and cooling the cakes and constructing the high chair.

This was for my nieces first birthday. It is homemade chocolate cake and buttercream frosting. All the flavors and colors used were natural. There are no dyes. If you can't tell what is in the stream, that is Pooh and Piglet in an upside-down umbrella. That was the inspiration for the cake. This was my first foray into all natural food colors, that is why the water is purple instead of blue. The gazebo was the baby's smash cake.
