the base cake is gingerbread cake and the stump is pumpkin cake, both filled with cream cheese icing. the turkey is yellow cake with rice krispie treat for the neck and head. it's all covered with mmf and mmf/gumpaste for the feathers.

My DD and her friend had a joint sweet 16. They designed the cake together. Had SO MANY problems as the cake was too moist. This is not the original bottom tier! Then, when I woke up the next morning after frosting the top tier, the frosting was sliding down. I didn't have time to fix it, so just hid it with accents. Most importantly, the girls loved it, and so did all their friends! All BC with fondant accents.

This was my 40th birthday cake... it is 3 tiers of sponge cake covered in fondant icing. Top tier has a diamante 21 with ivory feathers and purple glittery stars. The middle tier says 'with...' on it also there are diamantes and more purple stars the bottom tier says '19 years experience' all in purple icing with more diamantes and glittery stars. Each cake has a fluffy purple feather boa round it....

8" dome cake on top of 8" round frosted in buttercream with MMF (marshmallow fondant) head, neck, hat, collar, bow, feathers, shoes, legs and leaves. Feathers supported with skewers and head/neck supported with a wooden dowel. Feathers painted with food coloring.

Thanks to all for responding to my post, and offering great advice, especially detailsbydawn :) WASC cake w/orange creamsicle filling, covered in fondant & painted white, beak is RKT made with fruity pebbles and feathers are rice paper. Writing and candleholders are RI. TFL!

6", 9", 12" round pineapple coconut cake for my niece's wedding. This is a Martha Stewart design from her wedding book called Chrysanthemum cake. My niece loved it because it looked like feathers and she wanted something different. Covered in IMBC. This was a labour of love and the cake traveled over 2 hours to the venue and survived a very hot and humid day in the sunny Okanangan valley in Canada.

My attempt at a feather cake. Feathers are 1" strips of rice paper and dusted with rose luster dust. Glass beads were added to give it some sparkle.

For 16-year old best friends who celebrated their "golden" Sweet 16 on December 16th. 14", 10" square and 8" round. All covered and accented with Jennifer Dontz' white chocolate fondant. Bow and topper are gumpaste/fondant mix. Thanks for looking!

The main cake was a mini two tier 6" and 4" (gluten free) and coordinating cupcakes. The decorations are a mixture of edibles and non-edibles.

I know, a little different for a baby shower cake, but it was made to match the invitations! The mom-to-be wanted to turn up the wow factor! Red Velvet cake with cream cheese filling, iced in buttercream, with fondant bow. Feathers from Hobby Lobby!
