I made this for my Nefews birthday. I think it turned out pretty nice.. It is buttercream wit fondant/gumpaste accents. Barn and silo are ricecrispies covered w/fondant. The corn field and cattails are made from Royal Icing. It took a lot of time, but it was worth it! Cant wait to see the kids' faces tomorrow!! :D

My inspiration for this cake was from brendaanne's cake and the ducks were from milliegonza. I was glad when this cake was over. It was a big cake. It was over 2 feet tall and sat on a 20"cake board. All buttercream except the fondant animals. The barn started shifting the last 15 minutes of the hour road trip. Other animals were hidden mice and and the bird in a nest on top of the barn. Other views in my photos.

My sister-in-law said she wanted a farm cake again this year. It was a multiple birthday for male and female, young and older so I made a cow for each one. They raise tobacco so I put on some tobacco plants which turned into a joke at the party since we let the little kids "chew" the tobacco plants. This cake was so much work but a lot of fun.

I took my inspiration from Cheneya for this cake. I also followed a great tutorial by Aine2 for the little girl's face. The figures are fondant mixed with gumtex. The 'hay' on the ground is toasted coconut. The fence is melted candy wafers.

This was for a little boy turning 2. Covered in MMF (1st time covering round cakes. Not so easy!) Figures are MMF and buttercream grass. The "2" on top kind of pooped out on me as it wasn't dry enough but I ran out of time. After the birthday song, all the kids grabbed the animals and started chowing away. It was kind of funny but a little sad. I thought those little guys would at least last longer than the cake. But I made it to eat it. :) Thanks to www.thepieceofcake.com for the inspiration.

I made this last summer for my daughter's 3rd birthday. I got so much inspiration from CC! I used a stack of white cake covered in buttercream to make the haystack and then covered the cake in buttercream and did fondant animals. It was my first time making animals and I had a ball. Thanks for looking.
