A Farm themed birthday cake for my son's 2nd birthday (having a mobile farm visiting us as a party theme). Had to give it an Aussie twist as most of the farm/barnyard cakes I found had red barns on them which we don't have - so we have a corrugated iron roof shed. Everything is out of proportion, something I need to work on I think! Thanks for looking. -- Fi

This was for my son's 3rd birthday; he absolutely loved it! It was my first time using gumpaste (used to make pig and cow). Also my first time making a stacked caked like this. Thanks ChristyB for letting me use your design!

This photo is of the first time I made this carrot cake, for a friend's bridal shower. I've also made it for baby showers. It based on Martha Stewart's idea. The vegetables are colored marzipan, the dirt is crushed oreos and the fence is made of popsicle sticks.

The animal figures are made with decorator icing that I added alot of powdered sugar to so I could pick it up and mold it. They were actually quite easy.

I had to make another one of these once my friend's little boy saw the first.
All the pieces are gumpaste, except for the tires, which are chocolate doughnuts (my DH suggestion...I think he knew I couldn't buy just one doughnut, and the rest would have to be "disposed" of)

I did this up quick last night for my hubby's b-day today. I felt kind of bad that I didn't put more into his cake and everyone else gets a special cake but he still loved it. Free hand work as you can see:)

This is the type/theme of cakr I was considering making for my DD Dakota's 2nd B-Day in July...so I thought I would practice. The animals and the big Daisy is made from GP, the rest is Fondant. Th is my favorite cake so far I think. Thanks for taking a peek!

I did this for a family gathering for a lady that raises scottish highlanders. It's my first attempt at molding figures and I had a blast with it! Thanks to all the pictures on this sight for ideas!

I made this cake for my children's principal, who is retiring to become a farmer. I got the idea from Debbie Brown, but I had to make the tractor John Deere green!:) I really enjoyed doing this one, even though his head and one of the tires kept falling off! lol My first fondant covered cake board, I had a hard time putting a cake on it, I thought it was so pretty!

This was made for my cousin's 2nd birthday. His party was a farm theme, so I made this cake to go along
with that. It's an 11x15 cut to shape and iced in red buttercream. The roof lining and silo roof are done in
white buttercream. After it crusted I used the spatula to make the lines down the cake resembling boards. The doors are crackers lined with pretzles. Grass is made from tinted coconut and the hay is shoestring potato
sticks. Of course the animals are graham crackers. :-)

A 4th birthday cake for a little girl. I used soft green for the grass and added flowers to try to make it more feminine. This is a 15" round, all buttercream with MMF accents. The barn is 3 6" squares stacked and carved. Cows, pigs and horses are from Roland Winbeckler's molded figures book. Many thanks to all the barnyard cakes in the gallery, especially CustomCakesbySharon, I couldn't have done it without you!
