I am doing my sil's cake for her in Nov. on the other side of the country. I wanted to do a practice cake so I knew exactly what I would need to take with me when I go. Her cake will be bigger and she gave me ribbon to use on it.
This cake is a chocolate hazelnut cake with a nutella filling. It is covered with MMF. All of the decorations are handmade with a gumpaste/ fondant mix. The fruit, nuts, and leaves are dusted with luster dust and pastel chalks.

This is my second time working with fondant. The cake is for a breast cancer awareness fundraiser at work. I love the look of the leaves, but as you can see, my frosting needs some work. I hope it sells!

White cake, bc icing, silk flowers. My first heart shaped cake. I was disapointed on how close the top tier was to the second tier. I'm new at this, but feel that it should have been higher. Any suggestions???

This is my first cake. No classes. I watched a dvd and read a lot on the web. The two top layers are cake. The rest are dummies I iced. This was my wedding cake (renewed vows 15 years married). I ran out of time and couldn't do the leaves on the bottom layer. We forgot the flowers and so we didn't do the fountain. Everyone said cake was very good and moist. Some things happened I didn't expect, but that was just lack of experience. I am happy with how my first came out.

I borrowed the idea from TALMAS, who is a wonderful artist. I have so much learning to do. It is covered in Fondant and painted with icing. The sad looking man was drawn with an edible marker.

This is a devil's food cake with chocolate pudding filling. All decorations are buttercream frosting. I made victorian roses and mums from fall colors. I ended up having too many flowers, so I added some to the bottom border. It turned out beautifully!

This is a bushel of flowers with ornamental pumpkins added to the arrangement. I have seen this design on this site, and thought that it would be perfect for a candle/jewelry Open House I was asked to make a cake for. This was my first time using MMF and I was very happy with it. Thank you to all that inspired this cake! Thanks for looking!

I'm not happy with the printing on this - I had the press sets in block letters but didn't have the alphabet in block letters so had to do the name freehand. White cake filled with buttercream - for an employee at Hobby Lobby where I teach...

This is an 8" 2 layer square vanilla cake with BC frosting and fondant leaves. It was a last minute cake for a vendor for our firm who is retiring. I thought the message was too long, but they insisted. I ran out of room.

MMF and BC decorations, FBCT windows each with a different Halloween personality. Broomstck and bubbling cauldron are both MMF and BC and the graveyard on the left is MMF and the pumpkin patch on the right is BC. The spiders are all BC hanging from their webs. Its hard to tell but there are 4 pillars and then the cake is square and then there is another 4 inch cake on top , On each of the 5 total pillars there are tea lights to be lit on halloween.

Okay, here's my turn at making one of those bundt pan pumpkins. The leaves are fondant brushed with luster dust. The pumpkin was first covered in bc then fondant, brushed with copper luster dust. The stem is an ice cream cone, brushed with Wilton brown gel color. It was one of the easier cakes I've made, thanks to JulieBugg and Ksue's instructions! I really enjoyed it. :-D
