I made this for an engagement party. Used a few cakes I've seen on CakeCentral as inspiration. Can't remember the creators, but thanks!

This is a 2-layer 6" round spice cake with buttercream icing. The only request for this cake was to make it with a fall theme, so I did beige basketweave and gold, burnt orange, and burgundy fondant leaves and brown fondant acorns to decorate the cake.

This is my first attempt of a wedding fall theme cake. The roses and leaves are made of fondant. The cake per request was a spice cake with cream cheese frosting under the fondant cover. The colors were specific to a fall theme. My daughter is requesting that I make her wedding cake and this was my first trial cake. We used it for her engagement party. I found that using a garland marker is harder to cover than making the garland free hand and I still need a lot of practive to make a square cake.

I have always liked to make my cakes 100% edible, But decided to give silk decorations a try. I think I am ok with the look it gives. Shame on me!! This is the same dummy cake I used for the strawberries in my gallery. Gotta love the dummy cakes for a portfolio. Hee Hee

A request for a cake with cauliflower, so I played on it. Diabetic (fat and sugar free) spice cake and icing underneath fondant. Looks beautiful now, I am thrilled, but the icing is eating the fondant, so I it will not hold up unfortunately. Inspiration by kgunn and rainamehta MUCH appreciated!!!

Just messing around with cake dummies and trying the BC "stucco" technique. Turned out okay - not super thrilled with it. Fairy on top is just a figurine I had that seemed to suit the cake so I plopped it on top for the pic.

These were just for fun. My mom, sister, and I were trying different things with maple leaves and pumpkins. These were the only one's that I did that turned out. I used royal icing on the leaves and the base color of the pumpkins & Wilton Food Writers for the lining on the pumpkins

Thanks to Daisy1's 'Leaf Cake', I was inspired to do an autumn cake. I brought it to a friend's for Thanksgiving on the weekend (our Thanksgiving is earlier in Canada). The leaves and roses are fondant, painted with luster dust & Wilton gels.

This cake I made for my Grandma's Church. It's a full sheet cake, half chocolate and half yellow covered in buttercream. Center and leaves are fondant. Flowers are royal and buttercream icing. Sorry the picture is a little dark :(

This was a 6,8,10 marble cake with raspberry filling. The icing is real buttercream. Flowers fresh flowers that the florist placed and the ribbon is real ribbon. Covered the cake board with fondant and used luster dust to give a gold color to. The ribbon was also dusted with gold luster dust. Wedding colors were white, wine and gold.

I saw a similiar design on here the other day and used it for a party that weekend. The cake was butter, with the fillings either caramel praline with toffee bites, plain camamel preline and a chocolate praline. The icing was cream cheese flavored with the camamel praline. I used the liquid creamer and loved it! I received two orders for identical cakes! YAY!

This one I tried for the colors & to try out other ideas... Thanks to heavenlycakes for ideas and input on color. I know the mum's s/b royal icing but they were more for color than for look. I guess overall I expected more, but I am pleased with the color combo and that really was what I was working on. I also just learned the rose buds so they were for practice too. I had meant to do the reverse shell border on the top but that is a lot different on a cake than on a practice board. I'll keep trying!

Spice cake with golden raisins and pecans, filled and iced with cream cheese frosting. I made the leaves out of chocolate by painting on fake leaves and letting them cool, then I removed the leaf from the chocolate and dusted with varying shades of petal and pearl dusts.

Spice cake with caramel apple filling and cinnamon buttercream dream. The leaves are Satin Ice fondant painted with diluted gel colors. How do you think this would have looked w/o a top border? I debated.
