It's really just another fairy cake - just thought someone might be interested in another color combination.
Would you believe the mother told me this little girl turned 5 - I have it in writing ... she really turned 6!!!

This is another take on a cake I did earlier. I had all this left over fondant from the 21st cake I did. so I made another fairy cake just to practice piping and fondant. And I thought that I wouldnt get addicted!... Well I thought wrong..

This fairy was made the same way as the princess gumpaste head and body and fondant covered muffin as the skirt. I used a butterfly cutter to make the wings and sprinkled them with edible glitter (although I am not sure I like how the glitter turned out didn't seem sparkly enough)

The other pic I've uploaded of this cake was awful, I lightened it too much so the colours all looked really faded. Luckily a friend emailed me this one. Inspired by Debbie Brown's smurf house.

This was the first of 2 cakes For my nieces birthday. She lives out-of-town, so this was for the family celebration while we were all together for the holidays. The other she took home and froze for her actual birthday. Cup cakes are buttermilk devils food cake with buttercream (faux fondant II) icing. Tinkerbell is a toy.

The Tinkerbell is actually a pen (they have them at the check-out lanes at Wal-Mart). I put floral tape around the lid so it wouldn't come off in the cake. Fondant accents on BC. Fun cake to do!

This is my first time at fondant people. The cake is chocolate with buttercream, fondant, and cooked sugar. The dragonfly has blue cooked sugar for the wings and fondant body. The fairy is fondant. This was my first attempt with cooked sugar and fondant people. I had the most trouble with her face. Better luck next time. lol

Chocolate and vanilla cakes with BC icing. Airbrushed colors, fondant fairy. Isn't it amazing how much we slack on something for ourselves? I ran out of bc before I was finished, and I ran out of green bc before I finished all of the leaves. I was pretty happy with the fairy, but hope to have many improvements next time. Thanks for looking!

BC tiers, fondant/gumpaste fairy made to resemble the little girl, wafer and edible image butterflies with piping gel and glitter (from the turorial),piping gel waterfall, royal icing flowers. The mushroom base is RKT, the top of the mushroom is 1/2 sportsball yellow cake. This cake was so much fun to make. I'm starting to have dreams about decorating cakes. :)

I made this cake for our little girl's 5th Birthday. She had a Fairy themed party. The cake is a chocolate packet cake, baked in a dolly varden tin. I coloured the roll out icing/fondant and then dusted it with eatable shimmer dust. Barbie pushed into the top of the cake prior to icing. Wings were from a butterfly toy and stuck onto the back of the Barbie. Feather bower added a little more glitz. Flowers are also made of icing. Placed around the fairy to make a fairy ring, as requested by the birthday girl.

this is pineapple cake my own recipe cut and layer with buttercream. I have used fondant icing or pettinice the other name. The wings are also the fondant except i add tylose to it to harden them and i put a piece of raw spaghetti pasta up it and into the cake for support as well as royal icing on her back to help hold. I used lustres on the wings and edible neon glitter.
