MMF fairy princess cake. This cake was made with my very first batch of MMF. The wings were made using gelatin. I think it turned out fairly good. Thanks to all the other fairy cakes for giving me the inspiration!

This was made for a friend's birthday. There were 12 sugarpaste roses, a little fairy guarding the roses and butterflies. The flower pot didnt turn out too well as it was my first try..but managed to hide some of the flaws. Next time round I wont roll the sugarpaste too thin.

I had lots of extra fondant so thought I would attemp to make a fairy. I used the wonderful instructions from this site and this is what I came up with. I had to use edible food writers since I don't have edible paints for her face plus she is rather plump, but I like her.

I made this for my daughter's first birthday (just for the immediate family and my mother-in-law and sister-in-law). I'll be making something else for the party tomorrow. This was for practice and is my first attempt at modeling fondant by hand. Actually it's only the third time I've ever covered a cake with rolled fondant period. Hopefully with a bit of practice, I'll get better

What was Sleeping Beauty dreaming of for those 100 years? What if she had been reading a book of fairy tales before she fell asleep? Her world melts down into the top of Cinderella's castle, which is in the clouds of Snow White's forest, which rests atop the Little Mermaid's world under the sea. As you can see, each princess is asleep, dreaming of their own true love. ( fondant/ beginning of idea from Debbie Brown's Sleeping Beauty)

This cake was made for a little girl turning 7. Her mother wanted a "girly girl" princess cake. The cake is mostly edible, with the use of royal icing, fondant, luster dust and buttercream.

buttercream covered chocolate cake. i pressed my cookie cutters to the cake to make indentations on the sides and still iced with buttercream. royal icing for the top design then brushed with pearl luster dust. fairy dust, right?

The cake is a pineapple/coconut (pina colada). Filling is crushed pineapple mixed w/pineapple/coconut BC, then topped with toasted coconut. Iced w/BC pineapple/coconut then covered in pale green fondant. Leaves were drawn & colored w/gels. Large fairy is fondant. Embossers were used for woodland fairies and toadstools. This was my b'day cake; reason being a couple very dear to me gave me the woodland embossers & also loves autumn leaves.

Two tiers cake covered with rolled fondant.
The little fairies, mushrooms, ladybugs, and log were handmade with sugar paste.

I searched and searched in the galleries for a picture of a cake sort of like this. I swear I saw this idea here but couldn't find it again. The butterfly was much prettier though. Aubree likes ballerinas so I tried to give our butterfly dancer slippers.

Modelled in gumpaste, the wings are cloth covered wire dipped in liquified gelatin, dried and then painted with gold luster dust thinned with Everclear.

This cake was made for a girl turning 18 who loves Tinker Bell. Tinker Bell's flower stem was made from a styrofoam cone covered in gumpaste with a gumpaste flower. The flowers and stars on springs were also made from gumpaste. The cake was cavered in mmf and all other flowers and stars were also mmf. I brushed edible glitter on everything for a pixy dust effect. I found Tinker Bell at the Disney Store (after a massive hunt!) in a fairy playset.

Fondant fairy sits on a deep chocolate cake filled with raspberry preserves and iced in milk chocolate chocolate buttercream. Flowers, birds, mushrooms and snails are fondant and gumpaste.

This was the worst cake I have done in a long time. I thought this pillow cake would be nice and easy, but so many things went wrong. The fondant covering the cake was not pliable enough. The Rope kept sliding off the cake even after applying a fondant glue mixture of meringue powder and water. I initially made a crown out of royal icing, but it crumbled. So I ran out to a dollar store and bought a tiara. It was really a complete nightmare. Any suggestions on how I could have improved it???

detail of my Silver winner at the OSSAS. There were three faeries hiding in the cake. One was stealing a coin, one was pulling a shamrock out of the bouquet, and one was napping under the hankie.

I made this for my nephew's mom. She was planning on having a big party but then she was diagnosed with leukaemia, so I just made her a small cake as a surprise. She's crazy about Tinkerbell & didn't want to cut it.

Castle cake I did for a 6 yr olds birthday. It is all BC except for the hearts and steeples which are Royal. The door and brickwork are fondant. The towers are Ice cream cones.
