A friend's sister-in-law has battled cancer of and on for three years and was recently hospitalized. There is nothing medically that can be done except supportive measures and pain control. She is now home with hospice support. This is a very difficult time for the three children Alex age 11, Joey 9 and Kirah 4. So I made these cupcakes for the children hoping to give them some little something to smile about.

I did these for my twins first birthday. They are from a Wilton Yearbook. I really wish I would have put some hair on them though! I had a hard time with these because the cakes were just falling apart as I was frosting them. Eeeerrr!! I know they're not perfect but the more I fussed with them the worse they got! Thanks for looking, it's all buttercream.

I made this for my daughter because she requested a surprise when she got home from school. Such an economical and fun gift idea!! I knew she wouldn't be disappointed with this happy little chocolate cake with her favorite buttercream icing. She wasn't!

I made these to raise money for the PTO's new playground fund at my daughter's elementary school. They were sold at Family Fun Night. I wasn't thrilled with how these came out. I think I needed to use a larger tip for the white outline to get the look I really wanted. NFSC and Chocolate Rol-Out Cookie with Anotonia74's icing.

I really was just experimenting to see if I could cover a cake in fondant. It's actually rice crispy treats (which make great dummy cakes), Iced and then a terrible job covering it in fondant. I didn't really have enough for the cake. Anyway I was just playing and ended up with this. My husband says it looks like something from Men in Black.

My daughter is more creative than I expected. I let her make a vanilla pudding pie (I know, it's not cake) and she made it her own by putting marshmallows in the puddding and a chocolate syrup smiley face on top. I was really proud of her for being so creative with it. Not everyone would attempt the marshmallows, or expect it to be good afterward.

I did these and put in a basket for my sister who gave as a thankyou. I got the idea off the internet of course. They turned out really well. I think the colors turned out good too.
Used royal icing and my own favorite sugar cookie recipe.

This cake was made for my grandmothers 85 birthday, which was on Purim. Therefore, I made a family tree cake in which all the faces are masked and wearing hats. The faces and accents on them are royal. Everything else is buttercream.

This was made for my Aunt's co-worker who was leaving her job to home school her 4 children. Everyone was sad to see her go, thus the tears. The 4 little crying faces on the right are to represent her children. The concept for this cake came from my Aunt and her friends. I was just asked to make it happen. This was a fun cake to do.

Made for a friend's son who's all about the red power ranger. Never attempted a cake like this before. Need to work on my piping around the face design. Over all I was pretty darn pleased.

Made for my daughter's baby shower. I made petit fours for the faces. It was 90 degrees at midnight in the house while I was icing and the petals and basketweave drooped a bit (and me too). I made a plate of petit fours faces to serve along side of each piece of cake. Everyone ooh'd and ahh'd, even though I know it was far from perfect. Let me know if you have a heat resistant icing for California.

My mom made this cake for my 30th birthday. It is yellow cake, iced in BC. She used popsicle sticks for the arms and fondant, black jelly beans for the face. My boyfriend calls this one Sponge Bob Round Cake!! haha This one would be cute for a child's first birthday!
