...my first marshmallow fondant cake - first time making & using it. I made this cake for some friends' baby shower. We had lots of desserts, so we just needed a smaller cake (8".) (Though really sweet, it tastes so much better than the nasty Wilton stuff.) I'm not very experienced w/fondant, so I had a couple small tears on the back. I need to learn how to work with it better. (french vanilla cake w/strawberry filling - buttercream crumb coat covered w/MMF) TFL

Those Wilton Smiley face candles are so much fun to work with...except when one of their little heads falls off during delivery! This was for a friend's one year old party ~ lemon cake with bc icing. Another version of "Kicking Up Their Heels" in the 2005 Wilton yearbook.

This is for someone's "Sprinkle" instead of baby "Shower". I got the ideas from this website and Wilton's book. Thanks. :)

I made this for a friend, one of the first cakes I had ever made. I ended up with two sizes of round cakes and had to decide what to do, so this worked out well!

I did these cookies for someone at my sisters job who was ill. They wanted me to do something like the smiley face cookies you can buy at Busken Bakery, but I didn't want her to just smile I wanted her to laugh so I came up with these. Cookies are No-Fail Sugar Cookies with MMF and Royal Icing.

These cupcakes were made for my 3 yr old daughter's Pee Wee Club meeting. The children all wear sailor hats. The cupcakes are yellow cake, white BCI covered in home made fondant. I really had lots of fun making these little guys! I was devestated when my daughter dumped the tray of them 10 minutes before we left!!! (she was trying to help! ) I had to stop off at the store and buy snacks...Oh well, I can laugh about it now and yes I did remake them for the next week!

the shower theme was obviously angels at this shower. The MOB showedme the centerpieces which were wrought iron angels that she turned into brides by adding a veil, and little bouquet. So she asked me to stay along those lines. THe cake is really big, 2 9"heart cakes, and 6" for the head. White cake with homemade strawberry filling, mmf, and fondant hair and clouds. Please comment, I really want to know if this is any good, as this is my first paid cake, and I want to know if it was worth it.Thanks

Buttercream icing, fondant face. Crayons are fondant-covered chocolate melts. I used straws to mold the chocolate - Jacques Torres would have been proud! Besides being kinda shiny, I was happy with 'ole Elmo.

These were for a 13 year olds birthday at school. She loves Bon Jovi. This is the cover of the groups latest CD. It was easy, she was thrilled, and, her Mom said she was the coolest Mom ever when she brought these home.

I made this fun cake for my son's birthday. The smiley face was made with the ball pan. I wanted to use rice krispies for the hat but to my dismay, my children had ate the cereal. Yikes! So since time was ticking away I just softened up some marshmallow a little bit and squished and cut them into a birthday hat kind of shape. It worked alright.

I made these for a cupcake contest at a local cake shop. It was hot that day and the fondant didn't want to stick to the cupcake wrappers, no matter how much BC I used to glue it. Well, it was just for fun anyway.

Thank you cakegurl06 for the idea and for sending me the pic of the smiley faces! Mine isn't as good as hers, but I still love the idea. This was my first time working with fondant, I made MMF. It was too stiff, but when I microwaved it, it got sticky again. I also had problems with my icing bag tip (actually, I just used a parchment triange with no tip) so the faces and my writing is shaky.

I made this for a party the other night. German Chocolate cake with mint buttercream and MMF. I used an 9" round and 8" square pan and then carved them. This was SO EASY! And, it renewed my faith in MMF after my wedding cake disaster. It was a hit at the party - and again... EASY!!!
