Vanilla Pound Cake made with the Wilton Choo Choo pan. Sweet looking little guy who gave me a lot of trouble. After fighting with him at every turn-I was basically happy with how he turned out. Then I took this pictures-and then he fell off the counter onto the floor. Yeah...but I was able to save him with a patch or two and new wheels. But the customer was happy with it and that is the most important thing. Hopefully, the little boy had a great birthday. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the idea to all the CC's that did this one before me. I don't think I'm at the skill level to do a carved one yet, like I saw that so many have posted on site. TFL

Thanks to Suewillo on CakeCentral for the inspiration and help with this cake! I made this with working lights and sirens plus a few parts taken from a plastic fire truck I bought and took apart. It was time consuming, but worth it when I saw my nephew's face at his 6th birthday and how excited he was.

Done for a dear friend's dad's 90th birthday (dad crazy about trains!). 2/3 vanilla cake & 1/3 chocolate cake. Buttercream icing with royal icing decorations. Loved the train, didn't realize how crooked my writing was till I looked at the pict's! Friend was happy with cake, so I guess she didn't mind. Thanks for looking. Have a Blessed Weekend!!

This is the first 3D cake I made...my husband helped...It started as a basic train cake, and as we began to play, out came Thomas, which happened to be the theme of the Birthday anyways....I am very proud of this cake!

Chocolate sponge cake, covered with sugar paste - red is air brushed on, royal icing details. Hoses, ladder, lights and fireman made from gum paste.
This was according to this little boy his best birthday cake ever, he put the fire fighter close to the door and said " i must be near the door so i can get into my fire engine" - lol too sweet
Thank you for looking

This fire engine cake is almost suitable for a young child - slightly on the risque side (from Debbie Brown's "Naughty Cakes")

I made this for my son's 2nd birthday and it was a bit of a disaster. I bought an uniced slab and jamroll and moulded my own cake based on a toy I had. I didn't realise the slab was uneven until I"d put it together and realised it was the base that was uneven. I didn't think to bulk it up with icing. Then I doubled my BC mix except that I accidentally quadrupled the butter and didn't realise until about 6 hours after I'd finished! To top it off, when I used gel writers on the side to do the little details, I walked away while it dried and it all ran down the cake!

Cake I made for my son's fourth birthday. MMF, WASC w/ strawberry BC, royal icing grass and roadway (the first road was very smooth poured royal icing but my son couldn't resist and did some "excavating" so I had to redo the road) flames are made with colored white chocolate candy melts freehand on wax paper w/ #3 tip (tip: use tip to "pull out" flames as candy just starts to cool). Ladders are 50/50 MMF and gumpaste. Support underneath is wood with cake foil covering. If I do this cake again I will make in three sections and cover w/ fondant separately then assemble on cake board for a better finish.

My twin nephews LOVE Thomas the Train so it was only natural to make them a Thomas cake for their 3rd birthday. The cake was made in the Thomas character pan, which I rented from a local cake shop. I had to return the pan before I decorated it, so the face looks a little differnent than Thomas' actual face..but the twins didn't notice. I also don't care for the look of the star cakes, so I frosted it all smooth.

I looked everywhere for a cake that was a sparkplug or had a sparkplug on it after not finding one I made one on my own. The sparkplug made of rolled fondant with piped details and painted with silver luster dust mixed with vodka for quick drying

Cake uses Wilton train cake pan. All buttercream with ice cream cone for steam stack. Cake was used as model for a demonstration of multiple flash photography, hence the multiple shadows.
