This was a red velvet & yellow cake baked with the Wilton checkerboard cake pan set. The cake was iced with buttercream and blue sparkles were used to add some pizzazz to the water spraying out of the hose in the design.

Done for a friend's son's 3rd birthday. Cake is chocolate with chocolate ganache filling and buttercream icing. Used a 16 inch square pan to bake and then cut in half to make the 2 layers. Used gum paste and fondant for ladder, wheels, hydrant, and lights. During delivery the firetruck decided to "drive" off the base board, but there was no damage that was obvious (to others) when I fixed it...meant to fasten to board with skewers but didn't ...country roads stink for cake delivery...uuuggghh!

For a 3yr old who loves Firetrucks, so the Engine No. is 543. The red panels and black windows are fondant, the rest is BC. The lightbars are dots and the hard hose on top is chocolate twizzlers. DH goadded me into putting the eagles on the side door, which I felt wd be too small, but I pulled it off.

I made this cake for my son's 4th birthday party. I was not happy with the details on this cake. It was definately not my best work, but my little guy loved it anyway! White cake with buttercream and fondant with fondant accents.

This was for a customer who had just graduated from the Fire Academy. Ladder and carriage are gumpaste. Since this was my first fire engine I didn't realize how much time I'd need--I didn't finish it! I wanted to airbrush the flames with a little orange, add the rest of the detail to the carriage, and a few other perks.

Well the child's name wasn't Thomas but he sure did love the show! The cake is a dark chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and the little brown mass ('hill') is chocolate buttercream with chocolate chips tossed in. Grandma paid for the cake and daughter wasn't so sure about the price, but after they received it they all loved it! Oh and I used the wilton spray colors for the 'grass' and the 'river'.
