What do you know - a little over a month later I got another order for this cake. I changed the color scheme a little to make it more boyish.

I made this cake for my precious one year old boy, Jeremy. The theme was Elmo, but it wasn't until Saturday night that I started decorating the cake for the party the next day. I did not have a design so I started by taking the colors on the invitation card and went from there. Elmo and the rest of decorations are fondant. Cake also covered in fondant. Thanks for looking.

My thanks to "lilrev" for her Elmo & directions. My changes were to use egg shape pans for the head (she used ball pan) I made 2 eggs, split in center & used rounded ends. Wrapped in fondant to keep together. feet were 3" rounds with just a little batter in them. arms are 4" rounds. I cut out the mid sections & used the curves. Base is 12" rice kripes.
And he survived a nail bitning 3 hour trip over very bumpy roads. I put him in a cardboard box (silicon sheet under tray) and set on a feather pillow to absorb the shock. Not one pc of "fur" fell off!

My first real order!! A yellow cake made with the cake extender recipe on the bottom and a box confetti cake on top. BC icing all over. I made a couple of practice cakes before attempting this one and it paid off. No room for writing but maybe next time! I see some mistakes but am pretty proud of my first official sold cake!

Customer found this cake somewhere on line and wanted me to duplicate. I think in the original the decorator used an elmo cake topper, in this one I used fondant and icing to construct elmo

This was for my niece's 2nd birthday about 5 years ago. I still had not taken classes so I wasn't good at smoothing icing. Elmo was freehanded which I had no idea I could do. White cake with almond bc.

Jamari's mom found a pic of this cake online and couldn't find anyone to do it. My friend referred her to me. :0) 11X14, 2-layer white cake with 3D pooh pan for elmo, little 3" rounds cut as squares for his present, 8" round cut to shape for smash cake....gumpaste for the eyes, noses, letters, bow and circles.....all white cake with buttercream icing.....I wish I had noticed his expression before I was done....I would have made him smile a little more and not look so scared :0)

To use leftover birthday cake batter and icing, I whipped up the Eleven Elmos. My youngest son destroyed the 12th cupcake before I could decorate it. I know I could have done a better job, but the children enjoyed chomping into Elmo's smiling face.

Buttercream icing, fondant face. Crayons are fondant-covered chocolate melts. I used straws to mold the chocolate - Jacques Torres would have been proud! Besides being kinda shiny, I was happy with 'ole Elmo.

A lot of questions about this cake I hope this helps some of you. When you place the head and shoulders on the corner it sticks out a bit on either side of the cake I just filled in the gap with frosting to give it a more round body shape. I love helping and if you still need help feel free to ask away or private message me. Thank you all for your kind words and interest in making my cake.

This is a cake I did for my friend Hilary's daughter. They postponed the party since I was out of town when they had it slated, so I did an extra big one for her, and did her favorite, Elmo!

This was my very first cake! I decided to take on one of the most difficult chores in cake decorating...FONDANT!! I learned alot while making this cake. First of all, it is lopsided, but everyone thought it was supposed to be! It sort of took on a "whimsical" look on accident! My family was the guinea pig for this cake, so I wasn't too worried about it being "perfect".
