This is the cake my practice DD chocolate transfer was for. The cake was for the nephew-in-law of the original voice of Donald Duck. Hate the writing! Still need practice - have a feeling I'll be saying that forever!

I did this cake for a double baby shower. The baby ducks were made with the mini ball pan and a marshmellow for the head. The nest is toasted coconut. I also made the little bottle out of marshmellow fondant.

Cake inspired by the WBH - I even made thier House Buttercream - but it did not crust at all and was even a bit soft! I doubt I will use it again because it was harder to work with than my usual buttercream, but it tasted great. I made the WBH Haselnut Cake and mousse - Yummy! All the accents are done in Chocolate.

This cake was inspired by so many of the adorable Baby Einstein cakes posted here, but mostly a cake posted by jennyschultz11. Thank you Jenny! The picture insets are other characters that wrapped around the cake. All BC, characters done freehand on the cake.

Thanks to jcardel for the inspiration on this cake. I've had it in my favorite for a long time and finally had the chance to reproduce it. Not as good as the original, but it was fun and the mom-to-be loved it!

Farm cake done for a one-year -olds birthday. I can't begin to tell you how much work went into this cake (sometimes it sucks to have friends that ask for cakes!). All the animals & veggies are fondant. The pond is piping gel. The barn is graham crackers stuck together with royal icing, "sanded" to the appropriate shape and covered in fondant. Lots of work but well worth having a happy friend.

11" x 15" cheesecake cake with buttercream icing. I used a 4" x 3" round carved for the hill. Plastic figures, gumpaste sign (written with food writer pen), gumpaste cattails. For the "lake" I carved into the cake a little, spread a thin coat of lite blue icing and then a thick coat of blue icing gel (Wilton's delphinium blue).

This was a good job gone bad. It's cute, yes I know... but I thought that the chocolate fudge frosting under the violet would turn it greyer... it didn't. It was a pound cake recipe that a friend swore by, and since i was on a time crunch, I used it. ICK. The lady that got it had mixed emotions. Loved the look, hated the color. Hubby said "Does it roar too? It's awesome!" Never ever heard from them again. =((

Here's my take on a Lindy Smith cake. It was pretty time consuming, but it came out really cute I thought.

This cake was baked for the memorial service for my stepsister who died tragically from cancer, aged just 32. The J was made from fruit cake with the rest in madeira to give a choice of cake. Josephine had a memorial statue showing 2 ducks which I have tried to recreate. She also loved puffins and was very musical, hence all the various items on the cake.

I found this topper design in an a wedd. cakes design source book done by Lindy Smith. I decided to have a go at it, although hers were more proportioned, my duck was a bit big for my bear, will know better for next time.

I made this sheet cake for my friends oldest son 10th. He wanted the Jets having been born in Winnipeg, & the Ducks. I made the teams out of chocolate. They looked really cool & I made an extra player with the boys's features. The only problem it was hot a the center where the party was and the Chocolate Figures were too heavy! Next time I will make Ice in sugar cookie. But it turned out good &they loved it. Each kid got a choc. player. I made the nets out of choc on a make shift mold of 2 cones, & foil.

This was the second baby shower cake I ever made. I was inspired by one I had seen here. It was a joint baby shower for two friends. One had a boy and one had a girl. I liked ducks because it was neutral. Also, this was my first time every using MMF. It was fun! I had no molds and everything is completely edible.

My first themed cake! The customer wanted it for a friend who has just finished chemotherapy and really likes ducks (and other birds). The ducks are made from royal icing, the bulrushes are made from spaghetti and royal icing, and the green leaves are made from toothpicks and royal icing. Top and sides are done in buttercream icing. The cake is chocolate with chocolate filling.
