This cake was created for a man who likes ducks and he likes puzzles. So, I incorporated the two.

This design was on a napkin from the shower decorations. It had a purlple gingham pattern and I wasn't sure how to imitate that so I did a light and dark purple basketweave. I think it turned out pretty cute.

I made this cake for my neighbors 30th bday. He is an avid hunter and the party was held at The Bass Pro Shop's Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant. I wasn't thrilled with the cattails, but his wife was very pleased.

Duck is chocolate iced in buttercream with fondant hat and tie. The "wagon" is strawberry cake with fresh strawberry filling covered in fondant. 50/50 gumpaste fondant wheels. Pull string is fondant same with the ball on the end.
Still need a lot of practice with fondant but didn't turn out too bad considering it's been a little while since I've worked with it.
Thanks for looking!

My first 3D cake. I carved the duck out of a couple of rectangular cakes, held the head on with bamboo sticks, pringles for the duck bill, m&m's for eyes and buttons, and cheated a little by using a regular ribbon for the bow. My little boy LOVES ducks and couldn't stop saying "ducky, ducky, ducky..." :-)

Rubber Ducky Heart shaped 3 layered Cake I made for a Bridal Shower.
This is Pink , trimed in Bright Yellow...and has little Yellow duckie candy confetti sprinkled over it.
I made the rubber ducky topper.... she has on a veil and holding a little flower bouquet.
The Bride likes duckies...that was the reason for the THEME of this cake!!!
This is 1 of 2 cakes I made for the shower. The other was just a 1/2 sheet cake that says Bride to Be in the same colors/theme. I will upload it as well.

I had a blast making this cake. It was in a Wilton Yearbook. The duck is pound cake covered with buttercream stars. The water is blue fondant and the bubbles and soap are also fondant.

The customer just wanted the baby einstein characters around a tiered cake (with matching cupcakes). Funfetti 10, 8, 3" layers....the 3" was the 'smash' cake for the birthday girl. Buttercream icing with colorflow and gumpaste accents. I'll upload pics of the sides as well so you can see all the colorflow pieces....it was my first try at colorflow and I had some cracking issue, but overall, I love this technique! Thanks for looking!

This is a not-so-elaborate version of a cake I saw in a wilton book. It is all buttercream.

This is a 3D duck cake, and approx. 30 white cupcakes with duck candy molds on them. The fountain has rubby duckies floating around the bottom of it. My pastors wife gave me the idea of using a fountain, so this is what I came up with. This was my own baby shower, so I figured I could do what I wanted with it. I also did a bear theme cake w/ cupcakes.

This was my first official cake order (June 2006)!
It is all BC except for the 'bar of soap' and the bubbles... they're fondant.
I was really happy the way this turned out! And of course, I made a practice duck a few nights before... he was delicious!

This is my first attempt at marblizing fondant for a cake. I have been so busy that I had to bake this cake, make fondant and buttercream before I could even start. It is all MMF. I guess I over did it a bit on the top tier, but I hope the mom doesnt' notice in the morning, LOL.

Made this for a friend's birthday. She's dating a poultry science professor and she's a nurse...voilà -- a chicken nurse. She LOVED it. Body is 3D ducky. Hat, nose and bow are fondant. Only thing I forgot was the stethoscope!
